Game time: 7:05 pm
Scheduled starters: Scott Kazmir (5-4, 4.26) v. Daisuke Matsuzaka (9-5, 3.80)
The game will be on NESN.
Boston weather:
1 pm observation at KBOS: Wind out of the east at 14 mph, visibility 10 miles, broken clouds at 7,500 feet, temperature 70F, DP 49F.
Forecast:
Another cooler than usual night tonight. The high that's been dominating our weather for the past several days is slowly moving east, and the wind, which is easterly at BOS right now will gradually come around from the southwest and allow some moisture to move into the region, but not until after the game is over. There are a couple fronts off to the west, and they'll likely bring some rain into the area, but that's for another day...
It'll be in the low 70s at game time, with the wind likely still out of the east, which is blowing in. The wind will come around from the southwest/west later in the evening.

The Globe reported Crisp is expected to start. With Ellsbury being a clear fan favorite, it will be interesting to see what kind of reception Crisp gets tonight.

I don't expect it to be any different that it was before Ellsbury showed up.
I mean if fans were dumb enough to boo Crisp because Ellsbury made some flashy plays in 3 games, it'll be the stupidest thing since that BK Kim guy got booed off the field after putting up the 2nd best ERA on the team in '03.

I happen to agree. That being said, fans are funny sometimes.

If Coco gets three hits, there won't be any booing. Weak grounder or foul pop up, and the boos will rain down. It's all a matter of relativity.
I'm never happy about facing Kazmir. Dice-K needs another good outing. BATS, we need BATS!!!!!

I'm looking forward to this game. It will be great to see if DiceK can continue the pitching excellence we seen last month. While I never like facing Kazmir. It's possible that the offense awoken last nite. Maybe they'll stop giving Dice the "Pedro treatment" and score him some runs.
As for Coco starting. Good. The sooner the better ( assuming his sprain is fine now ). The Magadan adjustments were starting to work. He's only missed what? 3 games? I'm confident he didn't lose a step at the plate.
Win damnit.

Things I do not want to hear Bob Lobel say tonight:
"Why can't we get guys like that?" while showing footage of Carlos Pena adding to his very solid season totals.
Things I do want to hear Bob Lobel say tonight:
"Wily Mo Pena's 5th home run of the season."
Things I will actually hear Bob Lobel say tonight:

I'm surprised Pedroia doesn't wipe out like that more often with some of those huge swings he takes.
EDIT: Was that just Papi being Manny? Seems like he would have been on first if he hustled out of the box. I guess he was surprised it didn't go foul?

Nice hitting by Tek to take that offspeed pitch opposite field way for the sac fly.
If you're WMP and you're in a 1-2 hole, don't you expect fastball at your eyes?

He used to be a good pitcher back in the day.
"The day" being that time he pitched 5 shutout innings against the Red Sox.

Getting a huge call a good eight inches off the plate didn't hurt. Then again, Ortiz is always a huge dick to the HP ump (no such thing as a called strike with him), so I'm not surprised he got screwed.
