Game time: 7:05 pm
Scheduled starters: Julian Tavarez (5-6, 4.39) v. Andrew Miller (3-2, 3.81)
The game will be on NESN.
Detroit weather:
1 pm observation at KDTW: Wind variable at 7 mph, visibility 10 miles, scattered clouds at 5,500 feet, temperature 81F, DP 57F.
Forecast:
A surface high in the upper midwest is moving into the area, and will bring a sunny day and a warm, rain-free night. Diurnal cumulus forming during the afternoon will likely dissipate after sundown. It could be in the low 80s at game time, with the winds out of the west northwest at less than 12 mph. That's blowing out toward left/left center, but who cares in that huge outfield!

I just had the following conversation at work.
BS: Just out of curiosity, who are you rooting for in the Sox/Detroit series.
Yankee Fan: I was hoping you weren't going to ask that.
BS: Are you conceding the division?
Yankee Fan: No, just trying to be logical about it.
BS: So you are rooting for the Red Sox?
Yankee Fan: No, I am rooting for the Yankees to make the playoffs.
BS: So you are rooting for the Red Sox?
Yankee Fan: Fine. I'll say it. I'm rooting for the Red Sox.

Haha good stuff, my brother-in-law is a yanks fan so I just texted him the question, he hasn't answered yet.
I love the Tigers/Red Sox series, even though you guys usually end up winning them.
I was watching the 4 homers in a row earlier in the season, what a magic moment.
Anyway just thought I'd stop by and say hello to you guys, and uh good luck except for this series and any playoff games this year

This Miller kid looks nasty. Like a young RJ. For all of our Lester talk, we'd be lucky if Lester turned out this good.
Of course, the Tigers announcers basically have him in the Hall of Fame already, so that's bugging me.
Under their scouting report for Tavarez, they put "Bad Boy."

In all fairness to WMP, that was one hell of a throw by Granderson.
Nice to see a little two-out bingo from Lugo and Crisp.

Yeah, anything other than a THAT throw and WMP is safe. I wish he had gone in a little harder though.

Do you really care how many games back the MFY are? Us losing to Detroit is actually worse for them.
On a different note, the only game we may win this weekend is the third one with Matsuzaka on.
Bonderman vs Gabbard is gonna be much worse than tonight.

the umps are actually telling angels pitchers how to deal with a-rod. it's 12-9 now after a-rod's 29th, a rocket shot to left. it got out of the park in a hurry.

He would have made such a great catch they would have given him a HR.
Wouldn't be surprised if Hinske had to take a DL stint from that. The way he was grabbing his shoulder, I'd assume it's at least bruised, possibly separated.
Maybe Wily Mo will actually get some playing time, or Francona will just call up Dave Murphy to play in the OF while benching Wily and spitting his tobacco juice at his feet.

If you lived where I live and listened to MFY fans all day, watched MFY sh!t on the news every night, had to watch every Red Sox game on a computer instead on a TV, you'd at least want to have a website or a message board where you can go without having to hear about them, wouldn't you?
