RedSoxAnni
Game time: 2:05 EDT/1:05 pm EDT

Scheduled starters: Julian Tavarez (6-9, 5.01) v. Javier Vazquez (11-6, 3.66)

The game will be on NESN.

Chicago weather:

11 am CDT/noon EDT observation at KORD: Wind out of the east at 6 mph, visibility 10 miles, few clouds at 5,500 feet, temperature 77F, DP 50F

Forecast: High pressure and drier air have settled into the Chicago area, and it's going to be a great day for baseball. The dew point has dropped 10 degrees in the last 12 hours! Now, if it can do that in Boston!

Anyway, it will be sunny, near 80F, and there will be light winds out of the east, which is blowing in from left.

Thanks. I don't mind the day off then, although I'd rather see Hinske against a RHP, especially with a GB pitcher on the mound for the (Red) Sox.

Which sucks for those of us paying for IE, since they aren't carrying the game.

All the scoring in that game was on homeruns, including an inside-the-parker.

Even if the Yankees win tomorrow, and if we lose today, the worst position we'd be in on Tuesday is ahead by seven games.

Kielty goes deep! 7-1!

Forget the broom; this series deserves a shovel!

coloradojack
it has been a pleasure listening to hawk harrelson today....
BobHeise
Oh mercy! Tavarez strikes out the side in the 5th and Bobby Kielty goes deep.

With 94 pitches for JT I think Tito hands this over to the pen for the 7th. We may also sees Paps in the 9th, regardless of the score, just to give him some work. Let's finish this off and we'll be no worse than 7 up going into Tuesday.

I know it goes without saying, but great game from Tavarez, 2 H's and 7 SO's through six is pretty good, even it is was against the White Sox.

BillyJo
A four-game sweep, and a 6-1 road trip.

Yes, we were playing dreadful competition, but the key thing is, you need to BEAT the dreadful competition. This is what NY did to claw back in to this race, and now we returned the favor.

NY now needs to win 4 straight games to get back to where they were last Monday.
