Game time: 7:05 pm EDT
Scheduled Starters: Garrett Olson (1-2, 7.33) v. Clay Buchholz, 1-0, 4.50
The game will be on NESN.
Boston weather: 3 pm observation at KBOS: wind out of the southeast at 5 mph with gusts to 17 mph, visibility 10 miles, scattered clouds at 6,000 feet, temperature 69F, DP 55F
Forecast: High pressure is building across southern NE and will remain in control through Monday. Right now, KBOS is reporting winds out of the SE, but the winds are out of the NW to N at all other reporting stations, and I suspect that Boston is seeing somewhat of a sea breeze right now. The winds should be north or northwest at game time, which is blowing out toward right/across from left to right. The winds will diminish after sundown, and we shouldn't see the gusty conditions that have been dominating all day (I've just gotten back from flying to and from Sanford, ME, and, believe me, the winds are gusting out of the northwest!) After sundown, the fair-weather cumulus will dissipate, and with clear skies, calm winds, and a low dew point, we should see some radiational cooling tonight. So if you're going to the game, bring a sweatshirt. It could get into the low to mid 50s by the time the game ends.

Well the youngster got thru the 1st unscathed! Hopefully the team can give him a bit of a lead here.

No worries, O's, we still have 8 more innings to go.

Nice strikeout, Olson! Way to handle that first inning.

It would be nice if Lowell is going to fan to at least do it on a strike. With a WHIP of 2+ surely they can touch this guy for a few runs.
Another good inning by Clay!

Seems like the only way Youkilis can get on base nowadays is either by a walk or getting hit by a pitch.

Definitely weaker, but we're up 1-0 now. It seems like your rotation with everyone you have... still sucks.

That Roger Clemens, he really pwned with that sick 2/5 K/BB, plus a HBP. He should teach Beckett not to give up 42-hoppers where no fielders are.

You say our pitching sucks, yet we are still breathing down your neck and you guys have not been away to run away with the Division. As a matter of fact, our crappy pitching pwned you the last time we met. You all should be ashamed. If it wasn't for April and May, you would be in second place as you have become accustomed to.

Go away loser. Last I checked the Red Sox are still 5 up in the AL East.

Yes, I did say your pitching sucks, because it has.
And if it wasn't for June, July and August, you would be a sub-.500 team. I can play this game too.

Pwned? What are you, fourteen? You just said the offense is terrible, and now you're using the "terrible" offense to pump up a mediocre pitching staff? Are you functionally retarded?
