http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/reds...y_in_ellsb.htmlEllsbury in the one spot & Pedroia in the two hole......nothing else that Tito has come out with since Sunday's game has made sense.
I can't help but wonder if the Sox are worried about TV ratings the final weeks of the season if they clinch to early & thus these lineups they're coming out with.
Just look at the bottom of tonight's lineup:
6. Bobby Kielty, LF
7. J.D. Drew, RF
8. Coco Crisp, CF
9. Doug Mirabelli, C
I know it's Balti but geesh, why not put the best lineup out there for the next couple of weeks until it's all clinched up & then give guys time off!
Edit: stupid engrish

Why does a 23 year old who's been on fire need a night off? JD should be on the bench.

Same reason a 23-year old second baseman who's also on fire needed a "rest" last night, I guess.

That has to be the cheapest RBI of David Ortiz's career.
Really the pitcher's fault on both plays, compounded by Millar.

I figured Wakefield's injury would put him on a downward spiral for the rest of the year.
Also, Pedroia's day off last night probably will cool him down. Good move. And its a good thing we're sitting Ellsbury tonight, don't want him getting too hot.

Ellsbury hitting .563 and Pedroia at .519 over the past week made winning
that much easier.

Why because Papelbon is awful, as is Beckett, Ortiz, etc?

I think after Clay retires the first batters he gets a lot better. Maybe they are finding out if he can be useful in the postseason or not. It's a little late now for that in my opinion, but they are the ones making the decisions anyway.
