Phew, thank you Tito for this batting order. Maybe now I can actually watch a game this week without having to curse Tito all night from my living room couch. In turn, my GF no doubt will thank Tito for this lineup as well. Who knows, if they win tonight somebody may be getting lucky.... smokin.gif

Anyone think Cora will PH for Pedroia tonight to lay down a bunt? rolleyes.gif

I was thrilled to see Ellsbury at the top of the lineup and you had to ruin it with that thought. Thanks a lot!

I guess I have to withdraw my selection of Jermaine Van Buren Fan in the RSN death pool.

Why the hell was Wally on Sportscenter with the kinda good looking chick?

For the record, Jacoby almost beat out a routine ground ball. I like the lineup a lot.

Dustin is a ninja.

Nice double by The Ghost of JD Drew.....

holy shit a double by jd drew

Cabrera is such a f*&king idiot!!! Whose fault is it the balk?
And who did he wanna fight?!
MFLetou
This has to be the only brawl or near-brawl in history where the HOME team announcers are entirely on the visiting team's side. Its hilarious. Jim Palmer is totally going OFF on Cabrera and calling for him to be suspending for hitting Pedroia. Then Gary Thorne says that Cabrera should be out of this game.

True, true. smile.gif They repeated 5 times how somebody with such tenure in the majors can't be that dumb.... oh, well. Bullpen time.

Details of the incident, PLEASE. For those of us who can't watch.

How many times does Cabrera implode before Baltimore turns him into a closer/reliever?
Leephus Pitch
It must be something in the Baltimore water. Remember when another pinhead, Armando Benitez, hit Darryl Strawberry, then challenged the entire Yankee bench to a brawl a few years ago?

Cabrera had a balk. Coco scores, Cabrera gets pissed, throws at Pedroia. Umpire goes to warn him, but at that time Hernandez gets fired up and starts yelling.
Bullpens come in, yelling, screaming, no fighting. Cabrera gets ejected. biggrin.gif
This is the gist of it.

Details of the incident, PLEASE. For those of us who can't watch.

1) Coco tried to bunt his way on. Fouled it off. Cabrera stared him down, for some reason.
2) Coco singles, gets around to third, jumps around and makes Cabrera commit one of the most blatant balks in major league history. Coco scores.
3)The next pitch sails over Pedroia's head. Benches empty, no punches thrown. Cabrera ejected.
DCA
Listening to the game on XM. I will give Joe and Fred, (Orioles broadcasters), credit. The put 100% of the blame on Cabrera. Very rare that the home team broadcasters will turn so quickly. The way they described it, Cabrera may have been upset by Coco casuing the balk. But they say he should have been upset at himself, not Coco. Then, he threw a fastball over Dustin's head. Again, to give them credit, saying Cabrera had no right to do that.

What the hell was Hernandez yelling at Tito about anyways ?
Leephus Pitch
Cabrera's a pinhead.

Not that that's hard to do.

Let's just hope the Sox move on and don't retaliate. Not worth it. Not at all worth it. We have more important things to worry about.

amanuel777
In the meantime, somebody has to teach Lester how to throw a strike.

He was doing a good job until this inning.

Well it looked like Tavarez was trying to play peacemaker actually---I'm thinking he must know Cabrera somehow to go up to him and sort of pat him on the back. The best part was Cabrera upbuttoning his shirt and throwing down his glove like he's trying to fight somebody. Crazy mofo. Ump should have thrown him out right away to begin with--not doing so made things worse, and the Sox had justification for being pissed--why do THEY get a warning when somebody throws at one of those guys for absolutely no reason at all.MASN bugs me FAR less than any other road broadcast. Most of the time, they're pretty fair.I hope we do NOT retaliate--its not worth messing with--we are playing for something, they aren't.

On another note, Royals' pitching sucks. MFY take the lead with back to back HRs by A-Rod and Posada.
Then, the MFY pitching decides it can show that it sucks just as hard. 2-1 now.

Edit: 2-2

man, seeing tavarez walk up to those two with nobody paying attention was sort of like watching mike myers approach a couple making out in a secluded location

it didn't work out nearly as cool, but i was giddy watching him approach. Then i spent the next 10 minutes discussing with my roommates what he could have done there that actually would have surprised me. We were hard pressed to come up with anything. God i love julian

It was, but Tavarez seemed to cool out Cabrera; I liked it.

Millar squatting down to watch in the middle was kinda cool, too... didn't really know where to step in.

I'm not sure what side Millar would have fought for. It looked like he was thinking about it.

Yep. He really looked troubled.

On another note:

John Smoltz has a no-no through 6 and has retired 13 Nationals in a row...

Wow Ellsbury is fast

1 more for Lester ? I would say yes but on a TIGHT leash! hes currently at 90 PC

Man, Tek rarely do well whenever the bases are loaded! UGH
BillyJo
I don't like to bitch about the umps, but the third strike to Lowell and the second strike to Varitek were horsesh&t calls.

its too bad watching Seattle M's just fading away slowly! god damn it, MFY will probably get the WC spot!

Note that the Mariners are playing Detroit and have been very successfully replaced by them. Detroit is a scary team to face in the playoffs.
SFFM38
Wow, its weird seeing 2 same last name pitchers for Balitmore ...
TommyK8
Lester has pitched an excellent game it looks like? I just got home from dinner with friends and I was very pleased to see Lester pitching 7 shutout innings....has he been as good as the boxscore indicates?
samba guy
Go defense.

And go KC.
cracker
This outfield is just a joy to watch.
MFLetou
Nice catch for Drew.
Palmer of course says the ump missed the pitch to Lowell and it should have been a ball. Why don't we adopt Jim?

samba guy
Hum... Dirty Water

That's nasty.

Oooh, Jabba Chamberlain is about to pitch against the Royals.

2-2, NYY at KC in the 7th.
