RedSoxAnni
Game time: 1:35 pm EDT

Scheduled starters: Josh Beckett (17-6, 3.30) v. Jeremy Guthrie (7-5, 3.65)

The game will be on NESN.

Baltimore weather: Noon observation at KBWI: wind variable at 5 mph, visibility 10 miles few clouds at 2,500 feet, scattered clouds at 15,000 feet, broken clouds at 25,000 feet, temperature 82F, DP 62F

Forecast: A weakening high is moving off the coast, and a cold front is approaching from the north. Throw into the mix the moisture from Gabrielle's outer bands... But that won't affect the Baltimore area until the game is over. There may be more high clouds during the afternoon, but no rain. The wind will come around from the south, which is blowing out toward left, but at less than 10 mph, at least until late afternoon. It's going to get into the 90F range, and it'll be humid...

Way to hustle Cora, boooooo
Caspir
The scheduling geniuses at MLB strike again. Let's see, opening day with the Patriots, or an afternoon game against the Orioles? Tough call. I didn't even now they were playing.
Ralpho316
I said to my dad that I am surprised MLB didnt schedule more later games, or worked something out
bosockboy
Give that man an extension...great job Mike.
Red Sox Fan2
Wow, I thought the game was tonight.
bosockboy
MLB is allowed one night game on Sunday every week (ESPN). Not sure why everyone thought it would be tonight.

He's a great player. Kills me to say it, but he is. One of the greatest ever, ability-wise.
Ralpho316
Whoever needed 2007 to know that A-Rod was amazing, then you need to get out more.
Red Sox Fan2
wrong thread
bosockboy
All the more likely he opts out....Boras must wack off all day watching these HR binges. He's never been in more of a catbird seat with a player.

that's one hetero sexual way to think about it. whistle.gif
Ralpho316
Boras buys high class hookers all day watching these home run binges is a better way to say it
bosockboy
Goddamnit. Come on Josh, we need this one.
Ralpho316
Strike em out throw em out!
bosockboy
Nice throw, Tek. That was big. Every Beckett start is pretty important now, with everyone else kinda 50/50 right now.Wow, is Youk the best defensive 1B in the AL right now?
Ralpho316
Yah slide probably would have made him safe.

Yah I really hope that inning doesnt bite us in the ass

Yup, I speak the truth folks
bosockboy
Better sack up and win this. The Yanks have 9 left with Balt/TB and with Bedard and Guthrie out, I can see them winning at least 8 if not all. Gotta win this game.
MFLetou
I welcome those who watched the Patriots kick some tail with the note that if we don't pull this mofoing game out, we're looking at a 4.5 game lead.

Folks, we need to beat Baltimore here. Like, this is important. i'm totally not into this because of football, but...
Ralpho316
Yah we need to win this, this will be a joke if we cant get to the pen at all
Lowell4MVP
Great win for the pats and come on Sox. Too many wasted opportunities today.
GreenBud
Nice Coco!!
TommyK8
Nice Job, Coco! 3-2 Red Sox.

Today was one of two days that I am actually a Jets fan, but I am very pleased to see Crisp get the huge RBI.

Sox need to win this one after last night's, um, game.
Red Sox Fan2
one more run would be nice..
Ralpho316
Okajima worries me, kinda wish Gagne wasnt a woman right now.

Yah I said it
MFLetou
How's that work--being a Jets fan and a Sox fan?Must be strange. Like being a Republican who votes for Democrats or something.

I really wish they'd sit Oki for a week.
ivebeentruped
Short leash for Oki please.
Lesbian BoyFriend
Oki gets the job done. Now for Paps to finish it out.
SoxAroundTheWorld
Oki did fine. Papi just under it. In Paps we trust. Who are the Patriots? (ducks) We've got baseball here!!!

Well, I'm a Democrat who sometimes votes for Republicans (LONG story, but it's probably more suitable for PI).

I grew up in central CT in the late 80's, early 90's. You were either a Giants fan or a fan of whomever the Giants were playing. I decided to root for Bubby Brister and the Steelers.

I said I only rooted for the Jets twice a year, meaning when they play the Pats. (truth be told, I didn't even realize they were playing today until about 3:30)

Three more outs...

18 wins for Beckett. That speaks for itself.
