Let's do it tonight and go 3.5 up!

Toronto on top, 3-1, in the bottom of the fifth...

The Blue Jays-Yankees game could eclipse the Sox-Yankees game for longest 9 inning game. If it ends in 9 innings.

I just wish the Jays didn't make so many errors... can't believe they made none against us.
Torre really wants this one, got Rivera in for the 9th, game tied at 11.
Bergs
Going into the 9th at the toilet: 11-11
SFFM38
WOW!! if this goes into extra innings , that would be good! ( yanks/blue jays ) thumbsup.gif

EDIT: wow its 11-11 , I just checked after viewing all those posts on here... thats pretty bad pitching performance! RS doesnt have too many games like that which is good!

Tough. The Jays had the lead umpteen times and couldn't hold on to it... Now you have jeter, abreu and gay-rod up in the bottom of the 9th.
SoxAroundTheWorld
Who cares about other teams? Sox run the table and it just doesn't matter what others do. Josh got it started last night. Dice-K does his job tonight. Just do it!
SFFM38
Josh Towers are in and I know MFY totally own him, so mail this one in! banghead.gif

Some of us may care, we want to win the AL Division and not the Toilet!

Jesus, how many pitchers are the Yankees going to use in 1 series? If they keep this up a 40-man roster is not going to be enough. Mariano in on back-to-back days? Yesh.
Bergs
You certainly can't accuse the Jays of laying down in this series. Into the 10th.

Atta boy, Papi!

edit: Karstens in for the mfy:
11.3 ERA and a whip in the high 2.00's

edit #2: WHAT THE F*CK IS PAPI DOING?

Mariano is out now, they have some kid that doesn't really have a name pitch.
SFFM38
Jeff Karstens are in, so maybe Jays can score off him!
Bergs
Stairs leads off the 10th with a single.
amanuel777
What was Papi thinking???
SoxAroundTheWorld
Guess Papi thought they were sleeping. Shame he spoiled a good at bat by Lowell. 3rd out at 3rd base - not good.

BTW, Sox run the table and they win the AL East. Doesn't matter what other teams do.

Well no shit.

However, since that is very unlikely to happen, tracking the performance of the team 2 back in the loss column is probably justified.

edit: F*ck. Stairs thrown out at home to end the top of the 10th.
SFFM38
Ugh, I mean other Assist for Melky and Matt Stairs got thrown out at home!

EDIT: if it was Johnny Damon's arm Matt Stairs would have been safe with ease, IMO
Bergs
QUOTE(SFFM38 @ Sep 22 2007, 06:25 PM) *
Ugh, Aaron Hill got thrown out at 2nd base.

No he didn't. Stairs out at the plate.

Hill did, however, manage to give the mfy another 2 runs by sucking at catching baseballs in his leather glove. That's 2 games in a row. Wonder if he's from the Bronx.
SoxAroundTheWorld
Meanwhile, in the RED SOX game, which is going on apparently in the background of some other contest in New York, Dice-K paints the corner to K Pena. Throwing a lot of pitches though - at least until Lugo climbs the ladder to snare the 3rd out. OK, now you can go back to watching the Yanks...

Lowell singles up the middle, driving in Papi from sec... Oh, wait... sad.gif
Bergs
Yankees win. Tha-aaa Yankees win. Bastards.

Man, Hinske sucks.
SFFM38
DAMN IT!! **** them so this means for the last 16 games, MFY are 13-3! enraged.gif

Aaron Hill deserves to be involved in a terrible accident...or be sent to the minors. One of the two.

So Vernon Wells decides to play the 3 game series against the Sox and then calls it a season? What a joke. (Obviously we must win our games, but I hate when this happens).

He didn't hurt us in that series anyway. The Jays have been giving the mfy all they can handle, it's just that their 2nd-baseman sucks worse than anything else has ever sucked.

Wells sucked against us. They are better off with Lind.Look at the bright side, how many pitchers have been used by the MFY in just the last 2 games?
BillyJo
I don't know if any of you caught Michael Kay's call after Melky's hit:

"A gritty, gutty, and improbable win by the Yankees!!"

What a tool. Too bad every other team is playing them the same way the Red Sox play them.

Let's get a win tonight, and keep the heat on them.

Also, where was Frank Thomas today?

They used 10 today only, but the Jays used a lot, too - both today and last night. It's not like their bullpen is all rested.
Red Sox Fan2
No but Toronto is not going to the post-season with an exhausted BP.

He was run for. Great move.

Good point. I was talking in terms of the MFY losing more games to the Jays because of one's team bullpen being better than the other's.
Anyways, a quick look at the scores right now show that the Tigers are losing 5-1 so far... if they keep it going this way, we clinch tonight.
How about that?! warren.gif

Rays announcers moaning about the "missed call" at 1st that leads to a run for the Sox. Let's make sure that one isn't particularly important by getting a bunch more!

In fairness, it was a missed call. That would piss me off, too.

Edit: Sonnanstine at 46 through 3. Let's keep the pressure on him; I'd love to be into their 'pen before the end of the 6th.

Yeah, but they should get over it and stop bitching about it. What difference does it make in their world?

Who cares if it was a missed call or not. The umps are human will make mistakes. I've seen a plethora of bad calls go against the Sox so why not one in their favor for once when we can use it.

So am I to infer that when a bad call is made against the Sox, you don't care?

Sure thing, LBF.

Edit: removed gratuitous insult.

Seriously, get your own material. Shitzweak,

And to finish the thought, who cares if it was a missed call against the Devil Rays, they have nothing to play for anyways

20 minutes later, they are still bitching about it. It's times like this that I am glad Dewayne Statts doesn't do the Yankee games anymore.

There have been three calls in the past 3 weeks that have gone against the D-Rays. This is because they are out of the race, or so goes Statts' logic.
Red Sox Fan2
In order to be out of a race, you have to be in one to begin with.
dtkendrick
Look at Varitek!! Nice going guys!! 3-0 lead, keep it rolling!
Jermaine Van Buren Fan
Not exactly the ideal combination there, Tito.
dtkendrick
Ouch, not a good start to an inning

Anyone else think we should start warming up the pen, NOW??

Crap - is this the Dice-K inning?

Yes, it is. But he'll get out of it.

EDIT: Not sure what the score will be when he gets out of it.
