Forecast: More stratus downamongus! The fog has eroded inland, but it's still here on the coast, and is eroding slowly. KBOS had 100 feet and a quarter mile at 10 am, though, so things are improving. The fog is the result of a southerly flow of humid air that is also bringing some rain showers into southern NE. The rain should stay south of the Boston area through the day, but some light drizzle is a possibility later this evening.

At game time, it will be cool, with a light wind out of the southeast, and possibly out of the south by the end of the game. Southeast is blowing in from right, and south is blowing from right to left. It'll be in the low to mid 60s by the end of the game. There's just a slight chance of some drizzle. The fog is likely to return, possibly during the game. This may affect the pre-game plans; the Green Mountain Boys and their F-16s may be heard and not seen!

Ever since 2004 I have only asked for one thing. I want the Red Sox to win another World Series before the Yankees do. I don't want some arrogant Yankees fan 10 years from now talking about the fluke of 2004. I want validation, and based on the panic thread I think most of us need that validation as well. If they win one more there will be no need to ever be paranoid again because it will not have been a one time occurance. The magic number stands at 11. My money says Beckett knocks it down to 10.

With all the injuries to the Los Angeles of Anaheim of Orange County California Cougar Mellencamp offense, there's no reason for Beckett to surrender more than 4 ER in 7 IP.

The offense can bring it and muster that against Lackey, who can't pitch in Fenway.

I'm waiting for the lineups...I'm guessing it'll be the standard Peds-Youk-Papi-Manny-Lowell-Drew-Tek-Crisp-Lugo, but you never know with Francona.
