I am considering driving from Omaha to Denver for Game 3 if I can find tickets. If anyone hears of any, I'd appreciate it if you would keep me in mind.

Thanks.
Edmund Dantes
Aren't the tickets going on sale soon? You might be able to swing them by checking out the Colorado site. I swear I saw something bouncing around about some Rockies tickets not being sold yet.http://colorado.rockies.mlb.com/col/ticket...Lws101507#world

I am working that angle as well. I am just trying to cover all of my bases.

Thanks Ed.

Two years ago I did the drive from Omaha to Denver, only that was for the Patriots playoff game vs. Denver. Of course, the 8 hour drive was preceeded by a flight from Providence to Omaha via Chicago. Fun times...

Cool Cool. Just wanted to make sure since I was shocked as hell to find out they were just going on sale.

Server is so jammed up it keeps timing out.

AGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Jack Hayden
The CO server's killing me, too. Anybody wanna give me some tickets to Game 3? I'm thinking of driving Bozeman to Denver. 12 hours. Woohoo!
Edmund Dantes
Even more fun are the server resets. They are more tantalizing because it gives you a fall sense of getting in. The times I've gotten those the number at the front ev## has changed so it makes you think you might have gotten in.

I just got through. Picked up 1 to Game 3 and 1 to Game 4

Edit: Got through around 12:30

Just out of curiosity, I have searched around for some at stubhub, etc. and the profiteering is just unreal.

Fortunately (or unfortunately - depends on the day of the week), I won't have to do the flight.

At one point, I was at least to the page that refreshes and tries to get me in. Now, I can't even get back to that.
wincheck
Only 233 roundtrip to Denver from NYC. I think I'm going to give up though. The server keeps resetting.

Yikes:

Ticket Sales have been suspended

Amid an angry crowd chanting "We want tickets," Rockies spokesperson Jay Alves announced World Series ticket sales have been suspended Monday.

Alves says virtually all the tickets are still available, due to a computer system malfunction. He says only several hundred tickets were sold.

According to Alves, the Colorado Rockies will announce new plans to sell the tickets at some point later Monday afternoon.

Same here and I have the feeling that they have been sold out. The "T" on the schedule page is gone and the "buy tickets now" hyperlink on the front page is now gone. The removal of the T generally means there is nothing left.
Edmund Dantes
Wow. That sucks. I wonder how they are going to announce when the malfunction is cleared and people can start again.Interestingly I can get into the website (even though it's supposedly down) through links on the Rockies page. I can even sit at the virtual waiting room area and have it load and re-load. So no idea what's going on.

I am still doing that as well and I am disappointed that they would not announce that they are sold out, if they have been.
Edmund Dantes
Well they finally cleaned up those links so they now go to a page saying Ticket sales are suspended, but they should have that earlier than through the links. They also should give some idea as to when the ticket sales will start back up or tell people how to find out when they do come back.

Do you have a link for that?
Edmund Dantes
Yep Kid T has what I'm seeing now. I can't believe they can't just say "shit's ****** up. We're going to get it fixed, and tickets sales will resume on Wednesday. (if you can't fix it in 48 hours it ain't getting fixed)." as opposed to the whole we'll start it back up when we start it back up.

Found it. What horrific service. Shouldn't that be on the main page of CR website?
coloradojack
this sucks....i'm going to be absolutely nowhere near a computer for the next several hours.....i'll just have to rely on my minions.....
Edmund Dantes
Yeah, but the Rockies aren't exactly covering themselves in glory here. Also from what I've seen in the some of the comments on those Denver area newspages these owners aren't exactly known for their swiftness.

And I would like to add, that if you think you can beat the system like I did by calling the 800 number, forget it. After several unanswered rings, I keep getting a message telling me that "we are unable to complete your call at this time, please try again later...message 154....12!" WTF??? Does the lady in the recording think she's Elway calling a play? Is this some sort of secret code that I'm not privy to? Why do they toy with my emotions like that!

Not hard to believe. Remember some of the comments that came from ownership during last winter's failed Todd Helton trade talks.......?

"This morning, after more than 8.5 million hits on the Colorado Rockies website, Paciolan (Pack-ee-o-lan), Major League Baseball's ticket vendor, experienced a system wide outage that impacted all of its North American customers. As a result, the Colorado Rockies have suspended the sale of 2007 World Series tickets scheduled to be played at Coors Field.

"It's been an extremely frustrating morning for our fans and the entire Rockies' organization," said Keli McGregor, Rockies' team president. "We are working diligently with Major League Baseball and Paciolan to resolve the issues impacting online ticket sales for the 2007 World Series."

Although some ticket transactions (less than 500 seats) did take place this morning, virtually the entire allotment for all three games of the World Series scheduled for Coors Field remains intact. A plan for the sale of the available World Series tickets will be announced as soon as the details are available."

Can we just merge this thread with the "What Annoys You" thread?

I have a feeling that this whole situation is going to f*ck me. Today was the day I could sit in front of a computer all day and try to buy tickets. Tomorrow. Not so much.

Have tickets for Sat and Monday!! Booked flight! Staying with bother-in-law!

Anyone know the best places to drink before the games in Denver? Also - best place to watch the Pats on Sun afternoon?
john dopson
probably 50 bars within a few blocks of the park.
any and all of them should be hopping the whole weekend.

Anyone else flying out? I'm thinking of doing it from NYC. Stay in a hostel? There's lots of 'em out there. Hiking culture I guess.
Edmund Dantes
I'm seriously considering it Wincheck. If I get tickets for Saturday's game, I'm going from NY.
kylexray
They go back on sale today at 12:00 PM MT. GOOD LUCK!

I have an appointment this morning and hope that I am back in the office in time to sit in virtual waiting hell!

I'll have to go Sunday.

I'm trying to get tickets, for two reasons.

One, I got a place to stay free (inlaws).

Two, if I score 4 tickets, I score points with the inlaws by bringing them along!

Feel free to score points with me by bringing me along, too.

That goes for all of you. I'm trying for tickets, too, but I might be able to use some help....

Maybe we can negotiate. I have no use for an extra kidney...but a spare liver, on the other hand...

I'd agree to take two if someone gets 'em. I'd try to do the same in return.

Huntington Avenue Grounds
Yup. Might have crashed again.
ortizlovesthecookies
Yeah this is exactly the same as yesterday.

Yeah, this isn't working for me either.

Hmmm....

Huntington Avenue Grounds
Less than three minutes for this? Should be an intresting afternoon.
Jim from Gloucester
same thing for me....can they just have the red sox do this?
