Game time: 8:00 PM EDT (first pitch probably around 8:30)
Scheduled starters: Jeff Francis (2-0, 2.13) v. Josh Beckett (3-0, 1.17)
The game will be on FOX, WEEI, and ESPN Radio
Boston Weather: Noon observation at KBOS: Wind out of the north at 5 mph, visibility 10 miles in light rain, 3,000 feet overcast, temperature 56F, DP 49F
Forecast: There's a cold front sitting right off the coast, moving very slowly toward the SE. The patch of rain behind it will stay in the area until the front moves. Right now, there's only light rain in the area, but there looks to be more rain moving in from the SW and W. It does not appear to be holding together, though, so it's possible that all we'll see is some light rain. The clearing will be from NW to SE, and the rain won't be completely off the coast until around midnight. It looks like drizzle and a damp northeast wind tonight. Bring umbrellas...
Updates to follow...

Rockies will give Beckett a reality check and show that he is not a big game pitcher. Not the best way to start a World Series, with your best pitcher getting owned at home.

I just want to say that, after the ALDS, I lost my Red Sox hat. I didn't find it until right before our back to back to back homers in game 3 of the ALCS. From that point on, we've been doing fairly well.
I'm keeping that hat close at hand at all times now.

How about we get Bellhorn and Pesky to throw out the first pitches and if it comes back to Fenway, have Roberts and leskanic?

As I understand it, SD won't give Roberts permission...and I doubt Leskanic can throw that far with what's left of his shoulder.

I would like to see Wake throw it out, that would get the fans going.
Of course Jesus himself could throw the first pitch put and I'd miss it since Fox just has to show us old man McCarver instead of what's going on out on the field.

Bellhorn throwing out the first pitch would likely result in him striking himself out.
Not the kind of mojo we want to start things off.
Edit: Good reading to help pass the time before first pitch

I've already put my students on notice. Class ends at 7:15 sharp. I will not entertain any questions after class. Either see me before class, or it waits. I will be back in my office at 7:16. Shut down the computer, and out the door by 7:25. It takes 35 minutes to get home. I've got it down to clockwork!

Given the possible significant rain tonight, they can't have a rain-shortened official 5 or 6 inning game in the WS...can they? that would seriously undermine the credibility of the WS, in my opinion. It's okay in a 162 game season, but a post-season shortened official game should be a no-no. And if they can, than we better score runs early.

That's gotta be gayest and dumbest thing you've ever said, go away dangit!
At any rate, i've been listening to Shipping up to Boston, Who killed Tangerine and Tessie the past 20 minutes or so....i'm so ready for game 1 to start. Donnin the retro 1982 Paps jersey (instead of the Schilling, relax, it won't mess with the mojo, ony give us more of it). I'm just psyched that the sox could win another one before my dad passes on in a few years (he deserves it, having lived through the sox in the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's).

The Holliday numbers are something to look at. Batting .429 on the first pitch he sees this postseason. When behind in the count, just .077.
