Scheduled starters: Jon Lester (0-0, 4.91) v. Aaron Cook (NR)

The game will be on FOX, WRKO, and ESPN Radio

Denver Weather: 11 AM MDT (1 pm EDT) observation at KAPA: Wind calm, visibility 10 miles, few clouds at 9,000 feet, scattered clouds at 12,000 feet, temperature 59F, DP 32F.

Forecast: It looks like it will be a decent day out there. There's some mid-level cloudiness moving in from the west, but that's all it is - clouds. There will be no rain. If the layer goes to broken or overcast, it will not warm up into the mid-60s, but if the layer stays scattered, it will be warmer this afternoon than it was yesterday. It won't be as cold tonight; it should stay no colder than the upper 40s. The winds will be light, and from the east, which is blowing from right to left.

But...I'm not ready for this season to be over yet. I'm rooting for them to win tonight, but if they just happened to lose tonight and we'd get to witness one more masterpiece from 20007 Cy Young Josh Beckett, well it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

I think this is the right approach. And I'm thinking... the big bats have been quiet in the past two games... thin air... long ball...

PRACTICE IS CANCELLED TOMORROW, THERE'S NO ONE LEFT TO BEAT.

While it would be nice to see the Sox clinch the World Series on homefield at Fenway, it will be even nicer if they get the sweep. Finish is tonight. Go Sox!

When was the last time that Lester pitched for the Red Sox? Damn, now we have him again on the mound, thats terrible for a WS caliber team like the Red Sox. I guess there will be no party this weekend.

Alright, I think we know what this means.

It means that we have to throw the '08 All Star game. That way, the Sox can sweep and win at home in the '08 World Series.

I used to work for a firm with a Boston office but now I don't, anyone here want to get me the papers the day after we win it all? I'll cover packaging, shipping, the papers and money for your time like lunch/dinner for 2.

im pisssed right now i wanted to go down to boston to watch the game in the bars but my friend babied out cause she is sick and then all my other friends that i would watch the game with are going to breaking benjamins at the portland civic center tonight...oh well guess im gonna have to watch game at home for half and meet up with people at the stadium in portland tonight

In 2004, I was prepared with Korbel champagne and Hoyo de Monterrey Excallabur (ie., Red Auerbach) cigars.

I was caught with my pants down tonight: I have a bottle of "Andre California Champagne" on ice ($4.99 for a good-sized bottle), and $1.19 "Honey Game" cigars. Yikes!

I don't care, though, I really want a win tonight.

I'd rather not touch it all all. It was either this or White Owl. There was a very limited supply at the 7/11.

They had some very strange, um, "flavors" there. It's a far, far cry from Nat Sherman's.

I'd love for us to get the sweep tonight but I'm also rooting for it to go one more game because I slept in and can't get to a bar to watch the game in time enraged.gif. I guess ESPN Radio and Fox Sports Pre-game and post-game shows and here will be my lifeline!

Is anyone else surprised Hurdle isn't going with Francis on short rest in an attempt to stave off the sweep?

I'm sure that, if we were the ones down 3-0, Beckett would be on the mound instead of Lester.

As much as I would love for this series to go back to Fenway, I am really hoping for us to sweep tonight. It would be sweet and enjoyable...a 2nd title in 4 years (so does this mean that we'll be getting a 3rd in 6 come 2009?)
