OD at the Mausoleum. Yes, Byitches, RSN West Coast chapter will be the first to see the 2007 WORLD CHAMPION BOSTON RED SOX in action.
Looies, Mrs. Looies, and Princess will be rocking the Red n Blue from the Plaza Outfield (Looies is dedicated, but cheap) for
4/1 Red Sox at Athletics, Opening Day and that's no April Fools, either
5/24 Red Sox at Athletics, encore

didn't even bother to check and see if the sox would do interleague e.g. at the Giants. Also decided that 2 Sox games trumps the traditional A's Giants interleague.
So which games are out of town Rooters going to this season?

I was just looking for tickets to the May series in Baltimore, but there were very slim pickings. I suspect our friends in Baltimore are thinking pennant this year.
I'll probably drag the family to the August series in Baltimore (there are still tickets available), or we might head north to Toronto for the weekend series.
I lucked out last year and had a business trip to the Bay Area when the Sox played at Oakland in June, but I don't think that will happen this year.

I hate the schedule this year because the Sox wont be coming to ATL this year. I had gotten used to getting tickets to Turner Field every year and being able to go to the series. Just too much crap going on to try and fly out of town. Oh well, maybe next year??

I'm in the same boat. This year will be one of the few times since interleague play has started that I won't be seeing a single Red Sox game in person.

I’m heading to Citizen’s Bank Park on June 17th. One of my buddies who is a Phillies fan was able to get them before the Phillies put up this
‘offer’.
I have a feeling that it is going to be increasingly difficult to get Sox tickets at venues away from Fenway, unless of course you want to buy multi-game or season tickets to other teams.

You got that right. Teams figure that even charging a premium there are enough Sox fans that are willing to pay that they can raise prices and get away with it.
The Reds are really going for the jugular of any Sox fans that want to head out there in June, offering a
"Bakers Dozen" plan for Friday/Saturday/Sunday games, with the Sox game on that day included. No other smaller packages are listed at this point. Hopefully single game tickets will still be available, but not sale date has been announced yet.

That is what the Braves did last year. To get the Sox series, I had to buy tickets for the Cubs and the Dodgers in a Five Pack or something stupid like that. I gave the tickets away to these homers here in Atlanta.

There are two things about this post that strike me as odd.
1) When I bought tickets for the game we went to this past season (Monday of the Mon-Wed series, if memory serves, it was Schilling's "ow, my shoulder hurts" game), we did not have to buy a package including any other games. Why were you only able to get them in a multi-pack?
2) How did you find fans in Atlanta who actually attend Braves games? I was not aware that they existed.

Well, it turns out that we will be taking a family trip to Chicago next month, and it just so happens that the Red Sox will be taking on the White Sox at US Cellular that weekend!
I had been balking at paying the $10 "premium" the White Sox charge for BoSox games, but finally gave in the other night, and bought three in the upper deck for the Friday game. I was more interested in making a trip to Wrigley, but the prices that StubHub was charging was far too much.
This will be my first baseball game in Chicago, and I'm kind of interested in what kind of atmosphere will be there. I don't think it will be the "Fenway South" environment like in Baltimore, but I don't think it will be as intense as a trip to Yankee Stadium.

We went to 2 games in the dump called The Trop. First game we walked up and got tickets at game time. Sat in LF between the Ray tank and the club area they have behind the bullpen. Lots of Sox fans, more Rays fans for a change. We went to the third game of the series, got there at 5 and it was sold out! We scalped, got some decent tix in the upper deck above third base. But the crowd was nasty. Bad enough they have these cowbells all over the place. They also have to tell people when to cheer ("Two strikes, stand up and cheer" on the scoreboard!) When we were walking in some guy in his 20s tells my 14 year old son "Dude, Boston sucks". During the game fights were breaking out all over. One guy near us got thrown out because he was a Sox fan and had the audacity to stick up for himself as people dumped beer on him and threw stuff at him. Lousy team, lousy fans, the only redeeming thing they could do is keep the Yanks out of the playoffs, IMHO.

You will probably have to get tickets through scalpers, and that can be pretty costly, particularly this year. If you really want to see Yankee Stadium, I would suggest going when the Sox AREN'T in town. You might be able to save a bunch on tickets.
IIRC, the August series is on weeknights. I don't know where you will be coming from, I'll assume mid-town, but the trains will be absolutely packed. They are pretty congested because of regular rush-hour, but because of the game, it makes it even worse. And parking there is a total zoo now, so more people are taking the subway to the games.
As far as wearing Sox stuff on the subway, you should have some degree of company. Besides, everyone is packed so tight in to the cars, so it's pretty hard for sh&t to get started.
{gulp - wife just asked if the daughter could go to Wednesday's game with her parents. Poor kid's first trip to the toilet got spoiled in 2006 during an afternoon game against the Royals. Two drunks in the upper deck got in to a big fight, and scarred my daughter for life of that place. She probably won't go this week. I ain't complaining...}

Well, unless someone decides to buy the three games that I put up for sale I will be attending the last Red Sox-Rays series in mid September. I don't know why so many people down Tropicana Field. I probably won't go when they build the outdoor stadium. It can be bad enough in April, but there will be rain delays all summer and fall.
My experiences at the Trop have been somewhat different. I have had a good time with Rays fans, but I let them know I am a Red Sox fan who is a Florida transplant. I have been waiting for the Rays to gel for about three years. I think they are our biggest nemisis in the next five years. Anyway, the Trop has great sight lines, I have always been able to see the Red Sox when in town and saw the two play opening day about 3-4 years ago.
The lady that sits in the top deck in section 300 who leads the 1-2-3 sitdown cheers when someone strikes out and rings those darn cowbells is annoying, but still, she has been loyal thru all their losing. The only thing that has really ticked me off is they have played "Sweet Caroline" at the end of some of their wins against Boston and I just don't think that is cool.
Otherwise, like I said, I can get a ticket anytime, usually a good seat and pay far less than at Fenway for comparable seats and they even allow you to bring in food from outside.
