re: 'The "family friendly" section, which will include picnic tables....'

One less seating option for the young, single, alcohol consuming fan.

'The seats will available at $75 each.'

Oh, the young, single, alcoholic fan can't afford to sit there anyway.

Kidding aside, good for the Sox for turning a second tier seating section into a 'premium' area & being able to charge extra $ to sit there. In most stadiums, seating that high & distant from the plate is considered 'the cheap seats'. I don't know how they keep doing it.

Fake Edit: 'the new section seats 412 fans'. Manny's batting average in the 2004 World Series...yup, 412.

Colon's weight in Feb. 08'...yup, also a *suspected 412

excerpts: 'Red Sox partnership with Coca-Cola, the longest-standing team sponsor with a relationship dating back to 1912. The sign design harkens back to an historic Coca-Cola sign that stood on Storrow Drive for more than four decades, and will provide the company with a new and even more meaningful historic Fenway presence. The sign will measure 42’8” in length and 12’3” in height, and will feature 1059 LED lights that will scroll through the iconic “Coca-Cola” logo. The 25 second scroll, which will illuminate lights in a pattern that replicates writing, will be done in 254 steps.

*suspected = at least by yours truly

I suspect the Sox will be holding yet another lottery now!

This is great! If we want to compete with the Yankees AND keep Fenway, this is the price.

And I'm always happy to have capacity especially if it moves 412 people with kids who don't like beer vomit and bad chants.

Fenway's capacity for night games this season will be 38,888 versus 37,925 last season

By my math this will mean they go over 3,000,000 this year

Awesome. It's going to look great. I was able to score tickets in this section for a game this season.

When I said "I was able to score tickets," I meant that I know someone who works for a big company that got them via group sale and I was invited. whistle.gif

I think its pretty weak theyre taking down the coke bottles actually. Also, how can you market 75 seats as a family section? What family can afford that? The Rockefellers?

Lame.

Going to have to disagree on that one. Those coke bottles were butt ugly.

Yeah, I got used to them but I'm glad they're gone. It was an eye sore IMO. I like the classic look of the sign much better.

THANK YOU. Nice to know I wasn't the only one who thought so.

With the red Budweiser sign above the RF seats, it should bookend the outfield pretty nicely.

Me too.

I grew up with nothing but the Citgo sign over "The Wall", not "Coke Bottles on The Monster".

/Get off my lawn, too.
