Lugo scratched per Globe...concussion from collision at second last night.

Anyone else hearing Jimmy Rice in the pregame show? He's ripping the Sox lineup a new asshole. laugh.gif

AKA Theo told Tito to tell Lugo that he has a concussion so Lowrie could get in the lineup.

Wha'd he say?

He basically called them all a bunch of upper-cut swinging home run hitters that aren't trying to drive the ball. He said it with the grace of Jim Rice, but he still said it. He and TC were talking about all the runners that have been stranded lately and Rice went on about how the lineup is just looking to hit home runs.

Pretty ballsy move by Rice. He also criticized "hitting coaches" (we all know which one he's talking about) by saying they don't teach hitters to drive the ball, they teach them to get under it instead.

...and that's why Remy is one of the best. Three seconds after that ball slips out of Dice-K's hand, Remy's talking Gyroball. laugh.gif

David Ortiz struck out on almost that same pitch in Detroit.

From NESN

"Who was the only player to win a batting title and not hit a home run?"

My guess is Pete Runnels, Sox in the early 60's
thanman2
My guess would be Rod Carew

Coco! Holy Crap!
ivebeentruped
LeBron James getting hurt and back to back homers. I like this.

Lowrie! [Jim Rice]Damn these Sox hitters, swinging for the fences. Damn them, I say[/Jim Rice]
SFFM38
WTG Lowrie, not only you have played limited amount of time but you beat Lugo who has played alot more then Lowrie has. ( 1st HR of 2008 ) Lugo is still in search for his 1st ONE!
Cambridge
Manny continues to play underrated defense in left field.
acr
Okajima in there for the 8th.

Are they going to put Papelbon in there for the 9th(assuming it stays 4-2), or will they give him a day off and go with Hansen or someone? I'm a bit wary of using him, I think he needs time off to get back to his dominant self.

Congrats to Jed for his first homer.

On a sidenote, I hope he gets to the dentist to fix those chicklets.
