And Manny out of the lineup, Lowrie back to Pawtucket, Casey back although not active and Cora at short.
Interesting... Luckily, the game is on ESPN, so I'll see how this version of the Sox looks....
Ralpho316
I was hoping Lugo to the DL and Lowrie sticking around

You enjoy being subjected to Miller and Morgan?

I'd rather watch vacuums being sold on QVC than listen to those clowns.

I hear ya. But in the Tri-State area, this is the only time we get to see Sox games.
Actually, later in the season I usually buy an mlb.tv subscription, but it's too early yet.
For now, my mute button works just fine. biggrin.gif
amanuel777
Timmy doesn't look at his best tonight... I get to see a Sox game so rarely and it's gonna be a disappointment?! huh.gif

The ball is not dancing in the dome tonight

I was gonna say they need this one tonight with Clay, who hasn't pitched well on the road, going against Livan Hernandez, who's been excellent this year. Oh well.
amanuel777
Blackburn is on a mission.
Cambridge
Coco runs well, and astroturf is the enemy of baseabll.

Can't get any critical mass going for these game threads, huh? Looking like another 3 1/2 - 4 hour game. I wonder who Bartolo gets a start instead of (bad English, but sometimes, it makes the most sense).

Exactly. What ever happened to everybody from last year? Did people migrate to another site?
Or is it just people not being hungry after the last WS? Do we need poor performance and drama to keep us interested?
amanuel777
Wow, Coco!

Timlin SUCKS WTF THIS IS BULLCHISTOV!

Coco-esque catch by Jacoby, there...
GreenBud
Interesting......red hot Coco and Manny coming up.

Lovely baserunning...

It seems to me he was close enough to second to go back...
BigSlick
What an annoying game that was, and I'm not even talking about Joe Morgan calling Ellsbury "Ellswerth"

Yup, quite the crappy ending.
SFFM38
Thanks Timlin. could have been 8-8. all those ****ing 1 run losses could bite us big time in the long run!

It certainly did.

If "no man's land" is the equivalent of three steps away from the bag, then Drew was definitely there.

Why not blame Tavarez, or Wakefield? It's always the guy that gives up the last run(s) that we blame? That would be Papelbon recently, and he's not going anywhere. Timlin has always come around in other years. I think Tito and Theo think he will again. Or, he gets a long time to prove otherwise.

You guys probably don't want to hear this after a tough loss but I'll say it anyway. This is the most versatile and talented Red Sox team I've ever seen. They scare the hell out of the opposition even when they lose. They never give up. They can steal bases with at least four of their regular players. And they are a better team with Coco around, which gives Tito the flexibility to play four outfielders and rest Manny and Drew when he feels the need. Ellsbury's range at each of the three OF positions is spectacular.

This team has a bone fide ace pitcher and a lights-out closer. Maybe the pitching is a little iffy in between. And okay, your shortstop has iron hands. It's still the best Red Sox team I've ever watched. I think I've been swayed by the speed. It's just so wierd for me to see a Red Sox team that runs like this.
Jack Hayden
I think I still like the 03-04 version better, but this team plays much better defense.
BamaBoSox
We've got to start getting some more production at the top of lineup...

I realize that Ellsbury and Pedroia are more than capable, but another 1 for 8 night between the two of them wasn't a help when the middle and lower half of the batting order were ripping it.

Coming from you, this appraisal means a lot. All I would have to say is that there are so many variables that can screw up a team between now and October, that I personally can't get overly excited. Most of the adversity that could happen of course would be injuries. Shaughnessy guaranteed an AL East title for the Sox in June or so in 2006, and the team didn't even make the playoffs. Injuries did them in. So, we'll see, long season still to go.
