I think you're supposed to say it 3 times in order to make your wish come true.

What's up with Cabrera this year....his #s aren't off the charts but last year this guy was AWFUL.

Ellsbury with another INF hit.......it's still fun to see him run, the novilty hasn't worn out yet.
SoxAroundTheWorld
Welcome to the Bigs, Mr. Van Every. Let's hope that first K isn't all you can do.

How many times will we see Pedroia ground into a DP with Ellsbury on. My guess is, not often. Sigh.

Throw strikes, Jon.

I just realized that Baltimore has an off day on Thursday as well.....no idea why this game isn't scheduled for primetime.

Pedroia grounds into the first DP of the day.....stupid double plays.....

Ortiz G'edIDP in the first.
SoxAroundTheWorld
Lowell joins the GiDP party. Ugh.

Looking on the bright side as Lester issues his first walk - it came after ten outs. How about, Jon, you get another ten outs and then we can consider walking someone else. Thanks.
BigSlick
MANNY!!! Awesome DP!
SoxAroundTheWorld
Manny Ramirez is one whale of a left fielder!!! Icing on the cake - it was off Millar's bat. Sweet.
ivebeentruped
Did Manny just give a Sox fan a high-five in the middle of that play?
rominer
Anyone not privileged enough to have seen that catch that Manny just made...check your highlights tonight.

Manny, showing off the speed, the glove, and the arm all on the same play. cool.gif

(No, really, it was a pretty nice play.)
VoteRiceIn
I've GOT to see this..........

The Baltimore radio announcers are calling Manny's catch 'gold glove' quality....claim everyone in the park was 'surprised' that he came up with it & ......get this......that Manny high fived a fan after the catch before throwing it back into the infield to double up Huff.....

gerky
That was awesome!

I'm watching the game. It was a great catch, and the high-five was awesome.
VoteRiceIn
Tek goes yard........his 4th of the year but the umps stole one from him in Oak back in early April.
SoxAroundTheWorld
Manny's play was beautiful, but it was all luck. I don't think he had a clue where the ball was. nevertheless, the five for the fan was a nice touch.

'Tek pours salt in the O's wounds. He's hit the ball on the screws so far today.
VoteRiceIn
Van Every w/ his first big league hit........congrats!!
SoxAroundTheWorld
Congratulations, Jonathan Van Every. I love the fact that he can't wipe the smile off his face.

Nicely executed hit and run, as if these guys have been playing at this level for a while...
SoxAroundTheWorld
Michael says "Hey, I can do something other than hit into double plays!" Too bad Papi wasn't on board at the time - nice play by Markakis.
VoteRiceIn
Lowell goes yard.......

Sox now have 2 HRs thus far but still don't have a single walk.

I have a feeling that a break out inning is now underway.......

Ok, I'm heading to practice. Tell me the score if you see me on the river, k?

Ahhh.........for the O's..... whistle.gif

The O's radio announcers just commented that Lester now appears tired as he's lost 2-3 miles on his fastball this inning.
SoxAroundTheWorld
Lester does look cooked...

Edit: After which he strikes out the next two guys!

I don't know about that. He's actually pretty solid on balls he has to run back on. He just has no clue, or no confidence, or no interest in anything that he has to charge in on.

Glad they stuck with Lester there. He needs to fight through that inning. And I'm glad he succeeded. That's one of those situations where he's one hit away from coming out of the game, but one out away from maybe getting to come back out for another inning.

I'd like to see them send him back out there.

Damn. Alex Cora is on a MISSION since coming back from the DL.

I always agree with Rominer, but... Manny wasn't even looking at the ball.

Nice play by Cora. Mr. Lopez would appear also to benefit from some good luck.

Edit: So much for the good luck. Please don't let it be Timlin or Delcarmen.

He didn't need to look. He knew where it was. thumbsup.gif

Super Mario Bros. theme music played at the ballpark. I'll give Baltimore credit for that. Good call.

Hansen needs to prove something here.

This road trip has officially sucked.
rominer
I want Tito back.

This has not been a well managed inning.

Also, I f**king despise Jay Payton. I hope the next pitch he sees is in his earflap.
Renton
"The irony is that he was once a Red Sox"

How in the fuc.k is that ironic? Players change teams. He was here for half a season. Shut the hell up.

Go Celtics.

You need to quit your stupid rowboat races.

Everything was fine until you left.

Given how long Francona and Mills have worked together, I'd put the odds at Tito having made the same moves at 99 percent.

The big inning never should have happened. Pedroia makes that play almost every time.

Thank gawd for an off day tomorrow........

Hopefully some home cookin' & some .500 Brewers can help right this ship.
Q: Do they roll out the red carpt & bring back the Boston Pops to present Gagne with his WS ring on Friday night?
SoxAroundTheWorld
Manny was safe, of course. This game has gone to s**t. Bed time.

Moving on here, the pitching matchups do look good against Milwaukee.

Suppan vs. Matsuzaka

Bush vs. Wakefield

Villanueva vs. Beckett

Sweep!
rominer
So...Lowell with a base hit there. That means it should be first and 3rd right now, with two outs, an inning earlier.

The Ghost of Ned Martin
All Boston teams suck on the road.

I'm not being too irrational am I?
