Sam Adams vs. Old Milwaukee?

We've won that battle already.
SoxAroundTheWorld
Beautiful throw by Varitek to catch the thief. Wish he could do that more often...
SoxAroundTheWorld
Nice to see J.D. back in the line-up, particularly when he gets the bases-loaded walk! Guess the wrist thingy wasn't so bad after all.
jbelushi

Looked in the box to me.....

Good to know Predroia is fast. Thanks for the insider Timmy.

Only one person thought Bill Hall was safe. Too bad it was the ump.

I was just about to comment on how this seems like a good game, too bad it's not on TV for me.

And then I see that JD hit into an inning-ending DP, and Dice-K decided to spot the Brewers 2nd and 3rd to start the inning.

At least I'm not yelling right now.

EDIT: Yeah. Nevermind. I wish I did see that, actually. Out of the jam unscathed?
mish1231
Dice K gives me agida. That is all.

Thats just Lugo being Lugo for GIDP... same old.. same old. atleast he didn't boot any errors.
Malzone64
Can somebody explain how Lugo hits into a double play starting with runners at first and third that goes 3 - 2 and back to first? First baseman tagged the bag first? Lugo has to go. Two years now (including time with the Dodgers) of pure, unadulterated suck. Come the f*ck on, Theo, that's just a bit more than petty cash to John Henry, what Lugo has left on his contract. Get rid of him.
SFFM38
Ouch! Youks got a rare error.. in fact 1st time in a long time.

The play went 3-2-5; 'Tek was on third and got caught in a rundown. Not really Lugo's fault this time...

Yeah, followed by a 2 out HR. This team is snakebit lately. Lopez vs. Fielder. Can I hold my breath that long? And then there's the 8th with no Okajima.

Does anyone else think that Mike Maddux bears a faint resmblance to Frank Zappa?
Malzone64
Second inning in a row first two guys get on and nothing to show for it. This team is infuriatingly maddening at times.
SFFM38
Sean Casey is off a good start since coming off DL. 2 for 4 thats a good sign!
Malzone64
Well well, a two out hit for an RBI. Shazam! Keep this fellow, Ellsbury, sez me.

Pedroia 0 for 5. Bet he's ready to eat his baseball glove. Get'em in the nightcap little man.

And yet, Milwaukee has more LOB than we do.

Go figure.
SFFM38
Malzone, ... did you see that? Tito doesn't have much confident in Lugo for 9th inning so he did defensive changes and put Alex Cora in and Lugo is out.

Kinda of odd outing for Paps with no K's however only 7 pitches, so I will take that.. he will be good to go for 2nd game tonite!

SFF, yes, I saw it on on Gameday (no TV for me, Fox carried LA vs. LAA in CA). Maybe, just maybe, Tito/Theo are going to start giving subtle hints to Lugo that he's on thin ice?

And, wouldn't want Beckett to hear me saying it, but, Daisuke the stopper (ducks anyway). Yattane, Dice-K.
Jack Hayden
If the season ended today, Daisuke probably gets the Cy. Beckett would probably admit it.

I spaced on Lee when I made the post, but I'm going to fall back on a technicality and point out that the writers don't give the Cy to the guy who pitches the best. They usually just give it to the guy with the most pitcher wins, and if there's a tie in that category, then use ERA as the tie-breaker. I'm pretty sure Matsuzaka wins by that metric. The BBWAA doesn't believe in K/BB ratio or WHIP, so he's doing great as far as they're concerned. whistle.gif
