RedSoxAnni
Game time: 7:05 pm

Scheduled starters: Luke Hockevar (3-2, 3.94) v. Jon Lester (2-2, 3.95)

The game will be on NESN.

Boston Weather: 4 pm observation at KBOS: Wind out of the west at 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph, visibility 10 miles, broken clouds at 7,000 feet and 8,500 feet, temperature 58F, DP 32F.

Forecast: There are some light showers moving through central NH toward the southeast, but it looks like they're going to dry up before they get to the coast. I am willing to bet on it. I'm going to the game and I am not going to bring a raincoat! So there!

The gusty west winds we've been seeing here all day should die down later this evening, but at the begining of the game the wind may be a factor. Right now, we're seeing gusts to 30 mph out of the west, which is blowing out.

Nice 1st inning for Lester. I just hope he keeps throwing strikes.
SoxFan4Life
Man the camera is pretty shaky, guess someone didn't secure it well...
BigSlick
This is great! Remy and Orsillo have no idea they are on.

I'm pretty psyched I'm stuck at work 'til the wee hours and get to follow this game via gamecast and a bunch of dipshits on a Red Sox message board. Hell, yeah.

Good times.

F*ck.

I've been known to resemble that remark.

Has anyone else noticed that Julio Lugo seems to suck quite a bit?

Yes. And at 9 mil per year, we're stuck with him for a while.

the idle chit chat they go back and forth with during the game annoys the heck out of me.

Maybe he should bring back his little pull-the-sleeve-a-tiny-bit batting stance? Maybe then he would only suck as much as last year...well, nevermind.

Pitch count is a little high, though.

Lester looking absolutely dialed in the last couple innings....

Yeah I noticed that too. It was the first thing I looked at once I saw the box score. He's up to 97 now. Hopefully he can get a quick 8th inning.
Cambridge
I was at Fenway last year for Buchholz's second big league outing, but left shortly before the game started. I was at Fenway today, but left shortly before the game started. Just saying.

I gotta say, I LOVE that ESPN has the Astros/Cubs game on .... neat ... why oh why would I want to see the Sox game?

But you got to see Geovany Soto's inside the park home run! What could be better than that?
Cambridge
And we go to the 9th...
Leephus Pitch
No one deserves what may happen here more than Jon Lester.
TreeRol
ESPN's going to put the top of the 9th on.

In fact, they just did.
NJSoxFan

True story -

My girlfriend is a huge Jon Lester fan. I was breaking her chops before the season and told her if he tossed a no-hitter I'd give her 100 bucks.

So I'm heading to the ATM.

Pay her in pennies.
Kylyk
WOW!! That was superb. Lester was dialed in today, and at 130 pitches still throwing into the 90s in pretty impressive. He deserved this more than anyone and I couldn't be happier for him!
Renton
Amazing. I love Jon Lester.
BillyJo
What an outing. I've never seen him throw so many nasty pitches before. Lester was on his game tonight (although that may be an understatement).
GreenBud
That was awesome. So HAPPY for Jon!
dtkendrick
I just got home....I just missed it, didnt I?? Crap!!

Congrats, kid!! I wish I could have seen it!

I guess Theo & Co. were correct in holding onto this kid.
