RedSoxAnni
Game time: 7:05 pm

Scheduled starters: Brett Tomko (2-4, 5.32) v. Bartolo Colon (No record)

The game will be on NESN

Boston weather: 4 pm observation at KBOS: Wind out of the wouthwest at 15 mph with gusts to 24 mph, visibility 10 miles, few clouds at 6,000 feet, scattered clouds at 9,500 and 14,000 feet, temperature 69F, DP 32F

Forecast: There's a line of showers with some thunderstorms moving into western Massachusetts at 4 pm. They should be near the coast in 2-3 hours... The thunderstorms seem to be dying out as they move over the hills, so we likely won't hear thunder, but there's a good chance we'll get at least a brief period of rain. They will play the game, but there could be a delay.

It is raining in Boston right now. There's another line behind this one, but it is losing energy as it moves east. There's a chance that this game could start with a rain delay.

Well, I wouldn't say the word girth and the name Papelbon (or, say Bruce Hurst) belong in the same sentence.

girth: The distance around something; the circumference.
Size; bulk: a person of large girth.

Masterson weights at 250?? Wow, I would have never guessed that not by a long shot.
rominer
That strike 3 call was one hell of an uppercut. I wouldn't want to be Glass Joe standing in against that.

The umpire definitely just made the safe sign, but called him out. I'm confused.

Edit: Clarification, Lowell K's.

Wow... light game thread tonight. Got home late how did Colon look?

Edit for wine induced spelling.

Are you asking for Colonoscopy results?
DesertDirtDog
Nice, I like the way the rotation is shapping up.What was he hitting on the gun? Was he ahead/behind with most hitters?

Yes, and I keep getting baseball replys??!
Jack Hayden
I only watched a few innings, but he was doing a good job of throwing strikes and staying ahead in the count. I think he topped out at 95 MPH. Not too shabby for a scrapheap pickup over the offseason. It sure is nice having this kind of depth in the rotation.

Oh no, do we have our own player with a bathroom humor name now, and a pitcher at that? 10_1_131.gif

Why yes, yes we do.

And you know and I know that the "Colon vs. Wang" game thread is going to be the most active game thread of the season.
