Leephus Pitch
Still nothing on Papi's MRI.
I don't like his quote that he felt "a pop" when he swung.
On the other hand, there was no swelling the next day, which is a good sign.

No announcement on Ortiz's wrist until after the game at the earliest because the Sox need to "evaluate the course of action they are going to take"

This sounds bad, really really bad.

Uhoh, his wrist needs a "course of action?"

Well, technically, this doesn't necessarily need to be bad. You could interpret this to mean that it's not so clear a case that Papi needs to be DL'ed and that the Sox are trying to figure out if they're going to be extremely protective and DL him anyway. If it's not a clear case, then odds are it's Management trying to assess the risk of letting him play through his soreness/stiffness/whatever he has.

Manny is the shite!

I didn't know Grady Little was managing the O's.

Ortiz out a month, at least, says the Herald.

****!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so maybe it isn't so bad. Ellsbury plays left, Crisp plays CF, Manny is the DH, Moss gets called up to be the 4th OF.

Who am I kidding? This really blows.

So we'll win games 4-2 instead of 10-2.
Right?

Possibly out for the season?

**** THAT. Please let this only be a month.

I know of this heavy hitting DH-type that's being forced out of the league. He'd look great in the three-spot.

Not with this bullpen...

Come on Manny. We need some cheering up!!!!!

Okajima really Gagne'd that one.

I just can't explain how bad he was tonight...I still like him and trust him, but that was absurdly horrible...fangraphs has his WPA at -.656, which means he singlehandedly cost the team a 2/3 chance at winning.

Anyway, if Ortiz is out, you definitely sign Bonds. I don't care if he's a douchebag, racist, or a cheater, he's a great hitter and that's what we need.

Another decent left handed pitcher had a horrible night: Oliver Perez of the Mets, 1/3 IP, 5 H, 6 ER, 2 BB, 0 SO, 2 HR, didn't get out of the first vs. the Giants. I saw Perez's nightmare, he just couldn't get the ball down, or locate at all. What was wrong with Oki?
