OK, my turn to say 'what happened to the game threads?', and I will do my best today to get a spark going for them. I don't usually post in game threads unless I can watch the game. Barring a last minute switch, Fox has the game on in NorCal. You go Timmeh! That ump behind you shall remain unknown.

Timmy's got an ERA of 2.05 in his last three starts, so if the knuckler is "on", this could be an interesting game.

Volquez showing his wildness early. That'll help with Manny out. A punchless offense.

Manny and Tizzle out. Oh boy.
Having watched too much soccer recently, I've gotten used to low scoring finals. 1-0 works for me. Go get 'em, Timmah!

That was some interesting baserunning, which immediately bites the Reds in the butt. But so much for the 1-0.
So, I'm the only one reading a game thread during a game. Gonna kind of make it hard to get an exchange going...

Jacoby looked slow getting to first on that one. When the fielder booted the ball, I thought for sure JE would beat it out, but it still wasn't even close. Please don't tell me he's lame...

Manny's pretty good at going back on balls. He'd have caught it - just wouldn't have bothered to look at it.

Ellsbury's fine. His liner to second was just that. Second baseman had the ball in his hand as soon as if it had been a hard grounder. I was thinking if Ells hit Drew's ball, it might have been an ITPHR.

Cora is the only person who has actually hit the ball well today, Drew's triple was just a lazy fly ball.
A friend of mine who's a Reds fan is wondering if Bako forgot what team he plays for today. I agree, he's been abysmal. Maybe he thinks once a pitched ball hits the ground its a dead ball.

I don't often say something nice about Fox, but I like their (money-saving) idea of using one announcer from each team. Gives a nice mix of perspectives. Brennaman has been good, and Remy is doing his thing. Now if only they could get rid of that Rosenthal guy. Where's Heidi?

Got one more run, but this home plate ump is calling some balls off the plate as strikes against the Red Sox. Wish Fox had the ESPN K-zone. Hold'em Wake. 57 pitches only thru 5.

That last strike to Griffey broke like a curveball, in to the left handed hitter. I've never seen a curve with no spin on it.

Tek is apparently not close to game shape today - strep throat will do that to you. Highly contagious, too. So, on top of our DL problems, let's do another round of "whose turn is it to be sick today."
MDC in to put out Oki's flames. The opposite of what worked last year, but if it works now, all is good. Why, oh why, did Terry pull Wake???
