TBS, yes, catch a few innings before going over the hill to the coast for the day.

Beckett shall supply his own mojo for today's game.

Let's get to Homer early.

I like what I'm seeing so far. Ellsbury is just awesome as usual, and Pedroia made Bailey throw a lot of pitches...hopefully Drew and Lowell can keep the mojo going.

That double play sucked, but at least Lowell made him use a bunch of pitches

D'oh-mer Bailey had to throw a bit and suffered from bad control in the first, so I think we're in decent shape for the rest of the game. I just hope Beckett can give us an ace outing.
Malzone64
Lugo as usual making the stupid, stupid play to extend the inning. Oh, it's only Adam Dunn now with 2 on. The Red Sox have to get Lugo out of the starting lineup. What a horrible player. This could be the game.

Beckett gets out of it. Ball three tailed back in to catch the inside corner too, maybe. Not bad striking out Dunn twice. Maybe the real strike three was a makeup call by the ump. Seriously though, Beckett had to throw about 10 extra pitches because of Lugo's gaff. I usually have a ton of patience with Red Sox players, always have, being a big homer. But Lugo has to go.

It's really amazing how Lugo always does the little things that could have disasterous consequences. Thankfully Beckett got out of it with the clutch 3-2 pitch after getting squeezed on 2-2. That's what a real ace should do.

Lugo manages to make the bad play every time...I've resigned myself to the idea that they're stuck with him and will never make him the backup, but I'm starting to believe that the defensive upgrade(and I mean in terms of making the right play instead of the stupid one, not range factor metrics and whatnot) to Cora seriously outweighs the offensive downgrade.

This is not the Coco I know.
acr
Did Coco Crisp just hit a bomb 20 rows deep? Coco ****ing Crisp?Does it concern anyone else that Beckett just made harder contact with the ball than Lugo did?
ivebeentruped
A lot of pitches for Beckett.

Homer's not fooling anyone.
SoxAroundTheWorld
Kids in bed, just tuning in. What? Coco went deep again??? Guess he likes NL ball. Theo: see if the Reds will trade Dunn for Coco straight up. Or throw in Lugo for Phillips, too.
SoxAroundTheWorld
So that's what a nice play by a shortstop looks like. Imagine that!
Malzone64
Just when I think Pedroia isn't that slow, he again proves he is. Oh well, he has the good D.
ivebeentruped
I'm very impressed by Paul Bako's hustle to save a base, even in a 9-0 game.
SoxAroundTheWorld
I think we can be satisfied with Mr. Beckett's performance thus far this evening.
SoxAroundTheWorld
Anyone watching MLB.TV ever notice how it seems A-Rod has trouble spelling "MLB.TV" on the "keep watching" ad?
DominusNovus
Nice ovation from the Cinci fans for Casey.
Flaming Mo
Good outing by Beckett! I wonder if the TBS gun was accurate though as it had him mostly in the 93 range instead of his usual 95.

The offense looked great against bad pitching. Good win heading into Philly!
SoxAroundTheWorld
It ain't over yet, as Aardvark comes in and walks the first batter he faces. Better get Paps up!
SoxAroundTheWorld
OK, it's over now. Timlin with a clean inning - go figure.

The water, it is dirty!
