Tom King, Nashua Telegraph - Daubach to join Pride as team's new hitting coach

An official announcement will likely be made today, but Nashua Pride general manager Chris Hall admitted Sunday the Pride have agreed to bring Daubach, 36, in as the team's new hitting coach, replacing Richie Hebner, who left just as the season started to take a sudden managerial opening in the Baltimore Orioles system.

"We're excited," Hall said. "He may be the shot in the arm this team has needed."

...

• Hall then met with the former Red Sox first baseman/designated hitter last week while Daubach was in Boston making some promotional appearances on behalf of the Red Sox and Boston radio station WEEI. He's expected to begin his Pride coaching duties on Tuesday at Holman Stadium when the Pride will be in the middle of a brief three-game homestand vs. Atlantic City, which is managed by former major league power hitter Cecil Fielder.

Tom King - Daubach provides another MLB link

NASHUA – When Brian Daubach arrives later today to begin his duties as the Nashua Pride's new hitting coach it will put the finishing touch on the wealth of major league experience the franchise has guiding it on the field.

There's former Red Sox and Angels outfielder Rick Miller as manager; former Reds and Giants pitcher John Roper as pitching coach; former Red Sox reliever Rich "El Guapo" Garces as Roper's right hand man; and then Daubach, who played 13 minor league seasons and eight in the bigs.

"It's good because we've been in the big leagues before, and to bring all the experience to this team, which is pretty much a young team, it's going to help a lot," said Garces, who played with Daubach in Boston. "(He'll bring) a lot of confidence to the guys, and there's going to be a lot of positive things for the team. Whatever happens from now on, it's going to be good for us, positive for us to win some games."

Allen Lessells - Daubach makes coaching debut

NASHUA – THE BELLEVILLE BASHER is back in town, back in baseball.

He may be some 45 miles north and west of Fenway Park, where he did the bulk of his big league bashing, but Brian Daubach is back.

He flew in yesterday from his home in St. Louis and watched a bit of the Nashua Pride's rain-shortened batting practice before a 4-2 loss to the Atlantic City Surf at Holman Stadium.
