I want to see Joba in the shower by the 4th inning!

Wait, that didn't come out right.

No Manny...
Jack Hayden
Gross. Casey at DH. I don't hate the move against Chamberlain because I think his skills match up well there, but I just hate to see it on the lineup card.

I love Wakefield, but I hate seeing his name on the lineup card when the Yankees are listed on the right side.

We'll see how it shakes out tonight. Waker is streaky, and when he's on it really doesn't matter that much who the opponent is. I know his recent numbers against the Yanks are ugly, but he has put up some mighty fine performances against them in the past as well. Go get 'em Wake.
acr
I'm not feeling confident about this.

Did Francona give Manny the night off on a whim, or did he demand it because of his "barking hamstrings"? Because I don't like a lineup with a bottom third of Crisp-Lugo-Cash. Manny should be in LF and Coco on the pine.

I don't have much confidence in Wake against the Yanks, but here's hoping it works out well.

Hmm, I wonder what the reaction on this board would be if Tito did what Jim Riggleman (Mariners manager) just did. In the 15th inning, he put in his catcher to pitch, and he gives up a run, and loses the game.

Sometimes I think that would be more productive here...

Joba sounds like a country hick

THAT WAS ****ing SIX INCHES INSIDE
Red Sox Fan2
ball 4 turns into 2 outs.Than again, why is Youkilis running?More ball washing for Jeter. That play was borderline routine.
BamaBoSox
It's now official.

I'm not watching any more of Crisp's "at bats." Until he gets an extra base hit or at least hustles down the line, I'm through with him.
ivebeentruped
That shot by A-Rod bore some similarities to... nevermind.
acr
This game is ****ing bullshit.

If we didn't do that stupid ass hit and run shit(again), we're probably not losing right now. Even though it should've just been ball four. ****ing ump.

I'm enjoying the physics 'lesson' from Joe Morgan. It's funny how those heavier objects fall faster too, Joe says.

The speed at which his wife left him for Lenny Kravitz?

What the **** happened to this offense?

Did it catch Polio from Joba's dad?

Mental mistake by CI. Say it ain't so!

What happend?
Bottom 6, Jeets takes too big a lead, gets doubled off on a jumping catch by LugoTop 7, Lugo grounds one up the middle, Cap'n Intangibles does his little spin move and throws it into the stands, Lugo later scores an important run

Hats off to Wake, 6.1 IP and only 2 ER against the Yanks(with one man on base), looks like he's shaken the whole Yankees supposedly owning him thing.Hopefully the pen can hold serve.
ivebeentruped
Did they just play Dropkick Murphys in Yankees Stadium after Posada got that hit?

BURN IN HELL LOPEZ

Our bullpen is awesome
wanderer
I'm really having trouble putting up with this sad excuse for a bullpen.
dra44
Great play Cash!!!!!!
ivebeentruped
Lopez has been good lately, I'm not too angry with him. I will be angry if Delcarmen can't hold it here.
acr
Clutch tag by Cash. Varitek probably would've vacated the plate area and let him slide around.
dra44
I just hope we don't see MDC for 1 batter and Okajima for the 8th.
ivebeentruped
It is amusing to hear Yankees fans attempt to boo Kevin Youkilis.
acr
I'm giving us a 5% chance to win this game as it stands.

Even if Delcarmen and/or Okajima make it out of the 8th, we have Casey-Crisp-Lugo-Cash in the 9th, so they won't score, and Tito won't use Papelbon in a non-save situation, so Timlin will give up a walkoff.
dra44
I'ts got to be wild going from a 58 mph knuckleball to a 97mph fastball.

um. Did someone forget to tell francona that Tek SUCks now. not onl shoudl he have been pinch hit for yesterday, he should not have been pinch hitting for anyone (even Lugo) tonight...
dra44
Well that went well
wanderer
The hell was Manny looking for there, exactly?
dra44
I hope to God we don't see Timlin now
rpry17a
Manny was waiting to get it to 0-3 so he could then swing before the fourth strike.
Boss
Nice AB Manny. Nice AB.
acr
This is going to be one of the most crushing losses of the season
BamaBoSox
Manny simply wasn't ready. Could Tito have been assuming that they would put him on and pitch to Pedroia?

Either way, we should have swept this series regardless of tonight's outcome.
acr
Papelbon should *really* be in the game right now...

I'm praying Okajima can keep us alive...since Mo's pitched 2 games in a row(and quite a few baserunners), he probably will be out after this inning.
The Ghost of Ned Martin
Ok well Oki got ARod...I was sure that was going to end badly...
