Well it looks like the Rays will finally lose a game, so let's hope Dice is on tonight and go more then 5 innings .... picking up a few games in the standings the week heading into the AS Game would be nicce
Manny's ps2
The pitching matchups look really good to me....3 wins would be a nice way to head into the break...

Daisuke Matsuzaka (9-1, 3.12) looks great, but why don't I feel the same rush of confidence as I did last year when Josh Beckett was pitching with a similar line?

Manny's ps2
Because you're buying into the negativity.

Commander Kick ass will be super in the second half, starting with his last start of the first half.

Let's see how many pitches he's thrown by the end of the third inning before we annoint him with that title.

Because last year whe Beckett got someone out on 3 pitches it was usually a strikeout. This year when Matsuzaka gets someone out on 3 pitches they were usually swinging at a 2-0 pitch.

Thank god we have Youkilis playing 1st to make up for Lugo, almost another error

An imposter just appeared at short...

What a fine, fine play!

Pitchers all across the AL love him.
ivebeentruped
If that inning doesn't summarize the past few weeks, I don't know what does.
BigSlick
During the commercial break that just ended I flipped on YES. They are showing the 1977 All-Star game that was played at the Toilet. I saw one batter. Yastrzemski struck out on 3 pitches. That can't be a good omen for tonight.
thanman2
Holy shnikeys, that bottom half of the Sox lineup is appalling. If I'm an opposing pitcher I'll pitch around Drew/Manny/Lowell/Youks every time around the order...there's no way Coco/Tek/Lugo are going to produce. Sigh.

OTOH, good DiceK has returned, at least for one night. With the anemia on offense and the even-year Beckett the Sox *need* DiceK to be a RHP complement to Lester.
TreeRol
That was a fortunate inning for Matsuzaka, but doesn't obscure the fact that he was great tonight.

RUNS, dammit!
ivebeentruped
Hard hit balls that inning.
Renton
Everything hit hard tonight has been to this Span guy. Who the hell are you, Denard?
TreeRol
Matsuzaka comes out 3 batters too late. Still a great game.Okajima with runners on. Over-under on runs scored this inning? I'm setting it at 2, and expecting a lot of pushes.Matsuzaka comes out 3 batters too late. Still a great game.Okajima with runners on. Over-under on runs scored this inning? What kind of odds will you give me if I bet the push?

I am going to be optimistic and take the under. Okajima will ride the momentum from his solid outing against the Yankees and only allow one run, which of course will be the winning run for the Twins.

This is optimism these days!

Come on, can we get one of those lucky DPs from last inning?

Edit: That works! Paying all bets!

Hey whaddaya know, I didn't see that coming.

F'n A!!!!
TreeRol
We're winning this bitch.
CTLovesTheSox
And Pedroia starts it off with a double. C'mon boys, let's get it going here.
GreenMountainSoxFan
What's happening here? Twin's fail to score? Leadoff double for the Sox? I don't understand. Is that allowed now?
ivebeentruped
Okay, now can Manny make contact?
CTLovesTheSox
Manny - if anything, a deep fly ball scores the run. Do something here.
TreeRol
Outstanding! Bring on Papelbon!
