Outfielder Bobby Kielty, hindered by a series of injuries in Pawtucket, asked for and was granted his release. Kielty appeared in just 20 games for the Sox after making his debut Aug. 18, but will forever be remembered for his pinch-hit home run in Game 4 of the World Series. Kielty, 31, signed a nonroster minor league deal with the Sox this winter, believing he'd be added to the club if the Sox traded Coco Crisp . . .
