Royal Rooters > THE COOLER > ROYAL ROOTERS ARCHIVES > 2008 REGULAR SEASON GAME THREADS
RedSoxAnni
Game time: 10:10 pm EDT (7:10 pm PDT)

Scheduled starters: Daisuke Matsuzaka (10-1, 2.65) v. R.A. Dickey (2-4, 3.73)

The game will be on NESN.

Seattle weather: 8 am PDT (11 am EDT) observation at KBFI: wind out of the south southwest at 8 mph, visibility 10 miles, 1,600 feet overcast, temperature 55F, DP 47F

Forecast: The fog has been burning off, but the marine layer is about 5,000 feet thick, so that could result in cool temperatures and low clouds extending well into the late afternoon. It looks like a cool night, but comfortable.

The game thread is early because I'm going to be out until sometime this evening.

A win tonight would be nice considering Hernandez is going tomorrow.

Get it done!
MrNewEngland
Please get through more than 5 innings tonight!

This is just what we need. Seattle is playing horrible right now and we need a quick pick-me-up after that devistating show of baseball in the Anaheim series. If we get nothing less than a sweep against the M's, it's going to be an uphill battle for the next few weeks to regain and keep first place.

I suppose I should go watch this one at the bar. That seems like the thing to do.

I wonder if Wakefield threw BP today and if not, why not?

Dickey looks hittable.

But the runs aren't coming.

Good morning, all. Turn it on just in time to watch Mikey drive in run #3. Things seem to be in order. Carry on, boys!

Is that better?

I see that Dice-K has 2 walks and 5 Ks through 12 outs and 53 pitches. Let's see: 8 for the walks, 15 for the Ks, 12 for the outs, 2 for the hits - 37 pitches that count for something, leaving only 16 that don't. Hm.

By contrast, Dickey has 90 pitches through 15 outs, 8 hits, 3 walks, zero Ks: 26 pitches that count, 54 that don't.

Wonder if there is a statistic in there somewhere...

Youks not gonna be happy about that DP. Oh well.

Fake edit: I didn't realize that Arthur Rhodes was still alive. Wonder what it would take to get him...

Fake edit 2: Wheels came off in a hurry for Dice-K. Oki in. Nervousness way up.

Fake edit 3, as all the East Coasters snooze: Oki says "where's the love?" Paps warming...

Fake edit 4: And the water is dirty!

When I was watching the game and heard "Arthur Rhodes is warming up in the pen", I turned to the TV in shock and disbelief. I can't believe he's still in the majors.
