RedSoxAnni
Game time: 4:40 pm EDT (1:40 pm PDT)

Scheduled starters: Clay Buchholz (2-5, 5.88) v. Felix Hernandez (7-6, 2.95)

The game will be on NESN.

Seattle weather: 10 am PDT (1 pm EDT) observation at KBFI: wind out of the south southwest at 7 mph, visibility 10 miles, broken layer at 3,300 feet, overcast at 4,000 feet, temperature 58F, DP 46F

Forecast: Drier air is moving into the area and helping to erode the marine layer early today. Once the overcast breaks, it should warm up into the low 70s and turn into a partly sunny day. The wind will be blowing out, but shouldn't be much of a factor today.

On an inside corner pitch low in the strike zone. What a surprise. At least Hernandez had to throw 17 pitches. Hopefully the Sox can at least get him out of the game early even if they don't score a lot.

Clay picks Ichiro off of first base!!!!

Buchholz makes an amazing play and doesn't get rewarded for it. Great call at 1st, ass. rolleyes.gif

Was it just me or when the batter came up (LaHair) did NESN post his stats as 1-9 .200? As soon as I saw that I was sure he was getting a hit. Unless of course I misread it and that was his OBP.

Edit: I rewound the DVR, it was his OBP 10_1_131.gif

What's Buchholz looking like today (besides like a tall skinny guy)? I mean, how's his stuff, command, etc.?
Kylyk
If we don't get any runs out of this I will be absolutely disgusted!
DesertDirtDog
How much longer is Ellsbury going to hit(I wish) in the 1 spot? This is getting painful to watch.

You've heard of a brain fart? Felix had an arm fart walking Coco.

Pretty good. His fastball has been up to 95 and he has located it late in the count pretty well. He has had some trouble locating his breaking ball, but has still gotten a lot of swings and misses because of the good movement. His best start in a long while.

And after I fellate him he gives up a 2-run jack. ****.

How long did they stay with Pedroia last year before he started hitting? Yeah, the comparisons to a young Damon and Sizemore are looking embarassing right now.

Very good. Throught 5.2 innings he's thrown 61 strikes and 27 balls. He's been pounding the strike zone and.... **** a 2R HR ties it.

Thanks, Renton. Sounds good.I thought I was going to be home to watch, but someone called in sick. Another homer and a tie game though. And a walk. Who's warming?

'Who's warming?" NOBODY! Not until the game is out of reach, gezz, is this the first game with Tito as manager you've watched? banghead.gif

I stand corrected.... or was Terry tossed in the first??! mellow.gif
BigSlick
Masterson shoring up the pen gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling.
SoxAroundTheWorld
Much against my better judgement, I'm in from a night of drinking and ready to watch some baseball. Looks like we handled King Felix fairly well, and Clay did better than (I) expected. Oki on for the second night in a row. Please hold 'em - I want more baseball!
czar
We need to do something about this auto-out of a 7-8-9-1 thing.
SoxAroundTheWorld
Nice range by Jacoby, quick hook for Oki. Wish I could say I'm happy about seeing MDC come in.
czar
Delcarmen will be fine.

Guys: You've got a transcontinental flight ahead of you, only to be met by the red hot you-know-whos. Let's score and get out of here, "Kay?Coco does what he does best. I'm going to bed.
BigSlick
Water! Great job by the pen today/tonight. Bring on the Yankees!

Anyone else getting the feeling that this weekends series is ramping up to be one that gets talked about for a while afterwards?

It doesn't sound like the Sox at all.

I realize the M's suck with great exuberance this season, but when was the last time we swept in Seattle? I remember taking a series there in August, but don't recall us ever brooming them.
thanman2
I think Baseball Tonight said it was the first Sox sweep in Seattle in 15 years. Sure enough, last one was July 2-4, 1993. Frank Viola, Greg Harris, and Paul Quantrill picked up the wins. Scott Cooper, Andre Dawson, and Mo Vaughn each hit two home runs in the series. Good times! (Not.)

I have 10 Scott Cooper rookie cards that I am willing to sell and if you buy them I will throw in my 10 Phil Plantier rookie cards at no extra cost!!!!!
