Game time: 7:05 pm
Scheduled starters: Jered Weaver (8-8, 4.08) v. Daisuke Matsuzaka (11-1, 2.63)
The game will be on NESN and on ESPN
Boston weather: 4 pm observation at KBOS: wind out of the southwest at 16 mph with gusts to 20 mph, visibility 10 miles, scattered clouds at 6,000 feet, temperature 85F, DP 59F
Forecast: There's a chance of thunderstorms and rainshowers this evening, but tonight they will be "scattered" air mass storms and not a line of storms like we had yesterday. Right now, at 4 pm, there is a cell on the MA/NH border, near Nashua and Lowell, and another cell south of Worcester, near the MA/CT/RI border. There are a couple other popups in central NH and in the Hudson Valley. The storm that's south of Worcester now dumped a bit of rain in the Springfield area, and the NWS preliminary storm report has a report of golf-ball sized hail near Westover (KCEF).
It won't be raining in most places most of the time, so there's a good chance that Fenway doesn't see any rain tonight. The winds have been gusty out of the southwest most of the day, but they should settle down to around 10-12 mph after sunset. The wind will be blowing out toward left center.
Updates to follow.

The thunderstorms that were on radar earlier have fallen apart as they got near the coast. There's still some potential for convection, but most likely we won't see anything in Boston.

Tie it up Manny.Come on Lowrie, swing the bat. That's the second called strike three on him in the last 2 - 3 games.

Come on, 1 - 0 games in this direction suck. Youks, 'Tiz and Manny ought to be good for some scores.

Just shut up and play, Mang. We'll win a championship and you can go away. Deal?

Good inning, Theo with the Celtics hat. I found a 1984 #33 in the bottom of the dresser drawer the other day. There's your lead, Dice. Toronto takes the lead over the Rays, Yanks down 4 - 0. We'll take all three leads to hold.

Alright, time to see if Masterson can bounce back from his last outing and keep the good guys in this game.

Dice-K lost it as fast as anybody you'll ever see. At this point, I'd rather save Masterson for tomorrow night with Buchholz going. But, I guess he's warmed up and ready to go.

I really doubt that.
It's seriously amazing how fast people turn on these players and this team.

Not the team, just DiceK's one inning implosions that come from nowhere and cost us valuable games.

Faster than our bats are turning on Weavers pitches.......make that anyone's pitches at the moment.
Seriously, the offense blows right now.
Edit: Ellsbury was supposed to prove me wrong there. Eff.

Drew with a 1 out double, PUT ON THE RALLY CAPS!
Edit: Tek walks with 2 outs, Shields looks a little wild. If you want any hope to win this game, we need a clutch hit here. Drew on 2nd, Tek on 1st, Ells is up.

7 men left on the last 3 innings. The chances have been there tonight. Good news is Youkilis, Ortiz, and Ramirez are due up in the 9th. Bad news is it will be against K-Rod.

Another bad loss. Lots of guys left on base. One big inning for the other team and the Sox once again prove they can't beat a winning team.
Still time this season to pull this season back together - oh, nice meaningless HR by Manny! - but they have to do it soon.
