Looks like Kotchman isn't playing today. SoxFanPJ provided a link saying he was pulled from the field and is on his way to Atlanta.
Jack Hayden
Oh snap! Did the Halos just get Teixeira?
acr
Hopefully we can take advantage of the temporary hole in the lineup caused by Kotchman leaving.

And even more hopefully Teixeira doesn't join the Angels until New York.

Mike DiGiovanna, LA Times - Angels trade Casey Kotchman for Braves' Mark Teixeira

BOSTON -- The Angels acquired switch-hitting slugger Mark Teixeira from the Atlanta Braves today for infielder Casey Kotchman and minor league pitcher Stephen Marek.

The Angels have been looking for a slugger for the middle of the order, and Teixeira fills that role. He is batting .283 with 20 home runs and 78 runs batted in for the Braves.

Kotchman, 24, was pulled off the field before the game and told of the trade, after which he returned to the field to say goodbye to teammates. He is batting .287 with 12 home runs and 54 RBIs.

Teixeira, 28, is a two-time Gold Glove winner at first base who will be available as a free agent after the season. He could command a deal in the $200-million range this winter. He averaged 34 homers and 111 RBIs in his first five seasons and is about on that pace again this year.

Is this damn game on a national TV station too? Apparently i'm being blacked out by MLB.tv.

WBZ reports the Sox are talking with the Dodgers about Manny.

Clay was cruising along until Lowell's error, and Cora definitely should've knocked that down. Damn.

Edit: Huge DP, though he looked safe at first. The game's not over just yet.
czar
Alex Cora has no f*cking range.
SFFM38
banghead.gif I didn't think it was that bad.. but past 50 games Tek is batting around 148, This is not good at all and its sad that we can't hit off John ****ing Lackey. Used to be able to sent him to showers by 4th inning
acr
Lackey's at 74 pitches through 6. He's going to have a hard time finishing the no-hitter.
fenwayfreak
If Lackey throws a f*cking no-no against the Sox I am going to puke then kill something or someone. Maybe both.

acr
...Did Alex Cora seriously just let someone beat out a routine grounder to short?

I wasn't paying full attention...please tell me that it was dribbler or far to his right or something...

You missed it.

Cora charged that ball so hard it put Ernie Banks to shame, then fired with his hall-of-fame arm. He beat the runner by 10 feet but the umpire called him safe anyways.
acr
**** you Manny.
SFFM38
****ing no hitter thru 1st 7 for John Lackey.. I bet ESPN will start airing in 8th and 9th.

ESPN usually jumps into these games in the 9th.

We haven't been no-hit at home since 1958.

If Ellsbury-Pedroia-Youk don't break this up, it is going to suck hard.
SFFM38
This is sad... This reminds me of when Mike Mussina almost had a NO Hitter @ Fenway back in 01 I think and it was broken up by Carl Everett. Jerry just said last time it happened @ Fenway was way back in 1958!!!
BigSlick
John Lackey is throwing a No-hitter!!! Wow a freaking no hitter!!! No-Hitters are cool to see no matter who the no hitter is for or who the no hitter is against.

No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No HitterNo Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter No Hitter

Not that I'm superstitious or anything.
SFFM38
enraged.gif I bet alot of Yanks fans are masterbating to this no hitter at fenway.

EDIT: Whoa wait a minute.. Paps are in??? What for?? Down 6-0 and Paps are in?

I thought I was obsessed about the Yankees. They are down 6-1 to the O's so they likely won't pick up a game so it doesn't mean $hit to them.

The last out in that 1958 no-hitter by Jim Bunning was made by Ted Williams.
Fly ball to right field.

Well, I'm a little late to the, um, party tonight. This is nowhere near as exciting as Lester's efforts earlier in the season! enraged.gif

I had just had my wisdom teeth taken out and was completely out of it when Bosio worked his magic in the Kingdome, so I don't have a "personal" memory of that. I was pissed, however, when I found out about it the next morning.

And I think that Mussina effort in 2001 was just awful, and showed just how bad things had gotten at Fenway. When Everett got that hit, Fenway acted almost like they had just won a post-season series! Yes, we had just been swept by the Yankees, and our playoff hopes had died. Arg!!

If my team avoids a no-hitter on the last out of the game, damn right I'm going to be happy as hell. I'm not sure what's wrong with that.
SFFM38
ESPN just started to air it.. ( FSN channel not NESN tho )
BigSlick
F'in A!!!!!
fenwayfreak
Thank God for the little man!!!!!!! Now let's get a rally going. Insult to injury. Sox are going to win this one now!

Youk heard me...
BigSlick
and there goes the shutout!!!!
TreeRol
Pile it on, boys. I want to see this become a 1-run game, one way or the other.
SFFM38
Jerry Remy just said Tex will be at Fenway Tomorrow.

UGH! 3 pitches to get Lowell out.. This is 1st time that we have lost the series back to back at Fenway for the season, right?
acr
The 9th inning went the best way possible without tying/winning.

We break up the no-no and the shutout, but don't let it get to a save situation for that cowbell K-Rod.
MoVaughn.Org
It's a sad state of affairs when a 6-2 loss makes me happy, but then there it is. I never doubted Pedro and Youk!
Tomclash
Right now this team sucks.

I think Yanks heard you because Orioles are doing hell of a job for blowing up the game.. only 1 out in the 9th inning

EDIT: Sweating pig 2 RBI to make it 7-6. still only 1 out. ****!

GAME OVER.. Betemit Strikes out! Orioles barely hold this one for a W.
