Royal Rooters > THE COOLER > ROYAL ROOTERS ARCHIVES > 2008 REGULAR SEASON GAME THREADS
RedSoxAnni
Game time: 7:05 pm

Scheduled starters: Tommy Hunter (0-1, 10.61) v. Daisuke Matsuzaka (13-2, 2.90)

The game will be on NESN.

Boston weather: 4 pm observation at KBOS: Wind out of the northeast at 7 mph, visibility 8 miles in light rain, scattered clouds at 4,000 feet, broken layers at 9,000 and 20,000 feet, temperature 71F, DP 64F, thunderstorm in vicinity

Forecast: Perhaps rain, perhaps not... There will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in the area for most of the evening. At 4 pm, there was light rain at the airport, but heavy rains in the area, including at Fenway Park. The convection was weakening as the storms moved to the east of the hills of western and central MA, but there will be moist air moving into the area later this evening as the wind shifts to come out of the south ahead of a cold front moving in from the west that's going to mess up tomorrow night's game.

They will play this game. They may get wet.

The wind will be blowing in from left at the beginning of the game, but will be from right to left before the game is over.

C'mon Dice-K, get it together
GreenBud
Called 'er.
GreenMountainSoxFan
Ron Washington has developed a twitch. I hate to think how many ulcers the man must have. In other news there is now visual evidence that the Rangers do have a pitching coach. I was beginning to wonder.

Can we play the Rangers every day? I would enjoy that.
BigSlick
If this turns into a replay of Tuesday Night I am going to kill someone.
MoVaughn.Org
Wow, I knew the Rangers sucked at pitching, but this is crazy.
GreenBud
I'd be lying if I said I ever thought Youks would turn into this kind of hitter. WOW. Dude is gonna make some money one day.
MoVaughn.Org
Bye bye Mr. Hunter, better luck next time.
rominer
Kameron Loe, where are you now?

I remember he pitched more than one consecutive good inning against the Red Sox once.

... and hello Mr. Madrigal.
SFFM38
I am enjoying this.. I am just holding my breath for now due to Tuesday.. Tek seems to be regressing FAST.. I wouldn't want him back unless he accepts arb.
rominer
And goodbye Mr. Varitek.
DesertDirtDog
It's anybody's game at this point... I'm nervous
MoVaughn.Org
I don't want to sound like a negative nancy, but I'm a little worried the Sox offense will be tuckered out by the time they face Hallday tomorrow.
BigSlick
This may sound dumb, but that was a big DP. After the other night I didn't want them cutting into the lead right away.

I don't know about that...but it will have been so long since they've seen Major League pitching that they might be a little rusty.
Jack Hayden
The Rangers pen has to be pretty spent at this point. I have no idea how they're going to make it through nine innings tonight.

The same way they've made it through nine innings every other night: barely.

Use a position player. Imagine hitting against Crazy**** Bradley?

Where's Gabe's Babe tonight?
BigSlick

Where's Gabe's Babe tonight?

Making Caspir pancakes.
Jack Hayden
I thought Gabe'sBabe IS Caspir?
rominer
Are you saying Caspir doesn't know how to make his own pancakes?
CTLovesTheSox
7 IP, 6 hits, 5 K, 5 walks, 0 ER

Just your run of the mill Matsuzaka start.

Rumor has it that the last person to question Caspir's ability to make pancakes had an "accident" and now eats his pancakes through a straw. Just a friendly head's up BigSlick.
GreenBud
Oh no, Timlin's warming. We could still be in trouble here.
MoVaughn.Org
Alright Jeff Bailey!
SFFM38
O/U for Timlin to have 1-2-3 clean inning?

I guess He heard me ..... Nice Inning for Timlin.

Some of us do.

I was questioning Soxfan4747, who was suggesting that Caspir is Gabe's Babe. In which case, HE was implying that Caspir can't cook his own pancakes.

Just to clarify.
