JetHawks Come From Behind to Beat Mavericks 4-2

(LANCASTER, CA) - Another strong pitching performance by the JetHawks gave the Lancaster hitters enough time for a come back against the High Desert Mavericks. They scored twice in the seventh inning to take their first lead of the game. The bullpen held and the JetHawks won 4-2, their third straight win and the Mavericks' eighth straight loss. The magic number for Lancaster to secure the top seed in the Southern Division is now at nine.

Chris Jones turned in another strong performance, holding the opponent to two runs or less for the third straight outing. Jones pitched seven innings for just the second time this season, however, when he left the game it looked like he might take a loss as the JetHawks were trailing 2-1.

...

A home run by Negron had started the scoring for Lancaster in the fifth inning. Jon Still added a solo shot in the eighth. Jason Blackey pitched a scoreless ninth to earn his fifth save.
