Hey Everyone!

So after hearing all about the great time our Boston counterparts had at their outing, I thought it might be fun to have a gathering for those of us in the Tri-state area. Since clearly we could never all get tickets to a game at the Toilet, I figured meeting up at the Riv for a Sox/Yanks game might be a nice idea.

So here's what I've come up with:

When: Saturday, July 24th, 2:30pm

Where: The Riviera (225 W 4th St)

Why: Because we're all going to be watching the game anyway - so why not watch together?!

Now, MALC brought up a good point, the Riv can get pretty packed. I can't think of anywhere else we'd be able to meet up though, so if anyone's got any suggestions, fire away!!!

Great, and no worries I'll be sure to remind everyone when the date gets closer, but I know how quickly people get busy during the summer, so I figured giving everyone a month's notice would be a good idea.

No, you're thinking of the Viper Room. I was at the Riviera last week and two Yankee fans walked in, looked around, and left. It was surreal to see that in a bar on 7th Avenue.

And technically the VR still is Sox friendly, but the guy who started the sox craze over there got seriously screwed over (according to him of course) by the owner, and requested be boycott it.

If I am not working that day I'll try my best to be there as well....

I am from Canton, MA but moved to Long Island NY about three years ago.
Needless to say living in the empire has been hard and catching games on
tv hasn't been easy either.

I get shit wherever I go, because I wear Sox attire proudly. Recently I had an idea after being back in MA for a weekend.
I always get a hard time about the NY state license plates on my truck when in MA, so I am fighting back.

I just ordered NY License Plates with A BOSOX emblem on them. My License plate number in REVCUR (REVerse the CURse). I will post picture in about 4 weeks when the plates come in!

Thanks for the heads-up. I'll be there, wearing my Sox attire proudly. The Riv is an excellent place to watch the Sox games. Almost NO Yankee fans show up there, so we can watch our team as if we were in Boston. See you all there.

So.... I just got my New NY State license plates with the sox logo and Reverse the curse.... I have to go take pictures of them and then I will post !!!! and ofcourse make it my new avitar!!!!

The VR sucks now...it was never a great bar but Riff was a cool bartender and I never saw the Sox lose a game when I went in. I stopped by on Tuesday and found no Riff and the new bartender pretty much sucked.

We went elsewhere...but alas...no win.

Having just moved to the area I'd love to attend this outing, but alas I'll be in Boston rooting for the Sox at Fenway that day [ducking].

I'll be keeping an eye out for future gatherings, it's going to be tough dealing with the MFY fans down here without a support group to go to on occasion

haha.. i walk from the christopher street path.. I live in the boken.. and it is the scariest 4 blocks in all of the city..... some really strange places.. where in the window they have everything from gimp suits to triple sided.. well never mind..you all know ..
