I'm hoping someone, or a couple of someones can help me out. I'm trying to figure out all the songs that get played at Fenway Park on a regular basis. Like before the game, inbetween innings, and at the end of the game. I know there is: Sweet Caroline, Dirty Water, Take Me Out to The Ballgame...
Any help that people could give me would be great! Thanks.

Last night they were playing "Move your Feet" by Junior Senior after a walk, I believe. It threw me for a loop.
They also play "That's the way (uh huh, uh huh) I like it" which is by KC and the Sunshine Band, I think, after a walk.
After a HR, they used to play regularly "Boom Boom Boom" by the Outhere Brothers. They still sometimes play "Song 2" by Blur for a HR or something equally as good.

Right before the Sox take the field and they play "Centerfield" by John Fogarty, they play one of my favorite songs, "Uptight Alright" by Stevie Wonder (a very young Stevie Wonder..."
"Baby, everything is alright, uptight, clean out of sight...."
After the Sox win, of course there is Dirty Water. Last year, it was followed by Joy to the World (you know, Jeremiah was a bullfrog...). Now there is a song before that one, and that's third after the game...
During some pitching changes they play The Happy Organ on the Fenway organ.

They play the "Odd Couple" theme song during some mound meetings. I've heard them also play "Land of Confusion"-Genesis and "Sweet Talking Guy"-forget who during mound meetings.
They've played "Don't Stop Till You Get Enough"-Michael Jackson during offensive explosions. "Walk of Life"-Dire Straits is played at times during walks. "Yeah"-Usher is a very popular tune. "Kryptonite"-Three Doors Down is Tek's AB music.
I've heard them play "Zombie Nation"(I think the song is called) after HRs.

It will be released on August 24th. Go here for information:
http://www.dropkickmurphys.com/I ripped the audio from the video, so I've actually had the mp3 for quite a while, but I'm still buying the single when it comes out.

And yes, it does rock.
Also, on BDD, there's a segment about the songs that each player selects when they're coming up to bat, or coming out of the bullpen to pitch:

Hate to play the role of Captain Buzzkill here, but as I stated in the thread about the Fenway organist awhile back, they should at the very least severely cut back on the music at Fenway...I'm there for a game, not a rock concert, and personally I enjoy talking to whomever I'm at the game with between innings rather than having my ears blown out by their speaker system.

Ok t23, I started really paying attention to the game music for you.
Besides the entrance music, which was a different thread...
Last night, when they made a pitching change, they played "Take Me Out" by Franz Ferdinand.
I'm kind of glad they have expanded their horizons a bit and are playing different and new stuff.

I wish they'd put together a CD of the songs they play at Fenway (not the "Sounds of Fenway thing with stuff I never heard of). You could have Dirty Water (not the easist song to get on CD unless you want the rest of the Standells), Centerfield, Uptight, Sweet Caroline, a nice organ rendition of take me out to the ball game, etc etc...

there is a possibility that if i got together with some other people i could make this happen, it wouldnt be anything official and i probably couldnt use that name for legal reasons but i know somewhere where i could actually get it onto a cd with a nice cover and everything, that is if it is wanted. i wouldnt want to spend my money making this and then find out that no one wants it. i do know somewhere that i can "self-produce" this i would need help finding songs and making sure that this is something people would buy. i wouldnt take the profits (if there were any) btu instead, id send it to a charitable foundation (not the red sox foundation however) but does anyone think that would be a good idea? it would be nothing official just something to have, i could contact places to find out different songs to put on it

For all those who have bought the Tessie single, I'm sure you'll all agree it's an awesome song. Those who haven't, go out and get it! I really think that everybody who possibly can should learn at least the chorus to the song. The original Royal Rooters sang Tessie like mad in the stands, and I think we should too. It would be phenomenal to hear all of Fenway screaming "Boston, you know we love you madly, hear the crowd roar to your sound!" not just after a win, but between innings, during innings, before the game... Show those stupid Yankee fans what team spirit really is. If you want to know the lyrics, check them out here.

I still haven't heard the Dropkick Murphy's version of Tessie, so I really can't judge one way or the other, but I'll tell you this: I love the original, the one recorded over a hundred years ago.
Despite the fact that I love old-timey tunes like that, like Billy Holliday, Vera Lynn, and Al Bowly, there's something about that song that's just so pure. So innocent. The first time I heard it was this year, thanks to these boards, in a Sox - Yanks game thread from April. The score was close, and Nuf Ced made this post:

I did. They won. Ever since that day, I have absolutely fallen in love with that song. Since learning the story behind it, I love it even more. Every day when I come home from work to check Dirt Dogs, it's the song that's playing as the page loads.
This song was associated with the Sox before the streak, before the Yankee feud, before everything bad which has happened in the past 86 years. To me, it's their true theme song. That song must be heard in Fenway again, and not over the PA system by a modern punk band, but sung in a chorus by the fans in the seats.
I still love Dirty Water, though.

FSG really should put out a "Songs of Fenway" CD every now and then with player songs and what not.
You'd figure Vol 1 features Tessie and Shipping Up, Sweet Caroline, Dirty Water, Take Me Out, Play Ball, and Brass Bonanza. Then, throw some player songs in there like Welcome To The Jungle and Cryptonite.
