In 2004, 2007 and 2008, the Sox waited until late in those games to take down the Angels. As a result, I thought the same thing would happen tonight. I think I'm going to be very, very wrong.

Honestly, CB Bucknor shouldn't even be allowed into an MLB ballpark as a spectator...
...but if you're only going to score 1 run against Jered Weaver, you shouldn't be allowed into the postseason even as a spectator.
Period.
So if we don't win this game, this team should be thoroughly ashamed of itself.
Preferably the kind of ashamed they were in 2004 and 2007 against the Yankees and Indians.

Unfortunately, I see more of a '95 against Cleveland and '05 against Chicago...

Why?
The unifying factor in the comeback years is that the Red Sox were as good or better than their opponent, and had merely underperformed.
The unifying factor in '95 and '05 is that they were clearly inferior to their opponent.
The Angels are good. And they may be good enough to win the series. But they are, without even the slightest bit of doubt, in the former category, not the latter.

The Angels are far better than we've given them credit for. I don't think they are nearly as good as that '95 Cleveland team, but I do think they are better than us, based on what we've seen in the past two seasons, particularly when you include the regular season.

I have no problem with CB buying a ticket, same as anyone else, but he shouldn't be allowed to umpire. Everytime they show the strike box grafic on the screen, Bucknor's strikes are like 4-6 inches off the plate. It's really embarassing.
I made a joke on Facebook last night that I didn't realize MLB umpires were a civil service position and people yelled at me. But seriously, Bucknor should not be an umpire.
