Remember him? You have to be on the older side here. The ages of folks moving on is catching up to me. RIP Tom.

Well you know I remember Tom Tresh. He started out as an all-star shortstop and left fielder, then suddenly lost his hitting stroke, right around the time the Yankees declined in 1965. The tributes from his teammates were interesting. Apparently he roomed with Joe Pepitone and had some success keeping Joe out of trouble. Bob Turley remembered Tresh as the lone teammate to come to his retirement party in 2000. I think Turley made a lot of money in business after he left the game.

Tresh had a heart attack at 71 and died pretty quickly. That's the best way to go. Right now I feel badly for Seve Ballesteros, who had brain surgery and then some complications.

Another old-timer here.... And I remember him well from listening to baseball on the radio back in the 60s.

I posted his obituary in the news links.
