Beltre will haunt me for most of the season, because I was down with the "sign Beltre for 2011, sign Gonzalez for 2012" plan. Unfortunately, it looks like someone else would have taken Gonzalez off the market if we hadn't traded for him, and Gonzalez should be a better long-term investment, so things worked out fairly well. Still, I'll miss the head rubs, one-knee HRs, and awesome 3B defense.

I was also down with this plan, in conjunction with not picking up Papi's option. Youks as DH/occasional 1B/3B.

Beltre hit a ball past Youk at 3B, I think it was on Opening Day, and I died a little on the inside.
