I'm sure you've all read reports or seen the RSS feeds, but John Farrell is rumored to have been chosen to be the new manager of the Toronto Blue Jays. I'd hate to see him go, but more importantly, I'd hate to see him go to a place where I will hate him. Regardless, this leaves the pitching coach position open for the Red Sox. It will be interesting to see how they fill it.

Also, there are still a handful of other MLB manager jobs open and DeMarlo Hale could be a candidate for a couple after losing out on the Blue Jays gig. I saw Tim Bogar's name come up at least once. The Red Sox could very quickly be out a pitching coach, bench coach and 3b coach. 2011 should be a new look coaching staff for this team.

I wonder if Tito can pull a Bill Belichick and not officially fill those positions. /sarcasm

And if they stay in-house, I think Bob Kipper would be the best choice, although Mike Cather would be good as well. An intriguing in-house option would be Dick Such, who has a lot of big-league experience in the position.
