I'm sure there is more to the story than that. There is always two sides to every story.

Yeah, there's that.

We're all stupid. We should have seen the truth. It was obvious from the very first post.

I wonder if Gene Lamont or Torey Lovullo would have gone to the West End House Boys and Girls Club in Allston three days before Christmas.

Jerry Sandusky would have.

Should we get Bobby Valentine to guest star in Fever Pitch 2 to really drive the knife into his back, or am I mixing up posters and entertainment vendettas?

I'm assuming that in order to make Fever Pitch 2 a plausible movie some things would have to happen first.

First, since the Sox won the World Series in Fever Pitch they would have to start struggling again to make the fan base feel tortured. They'd need to miss the playoffs a couple of years in a row, and maybe throw in a late season collapse in the process.

Second, There would need to be some sort of controversy and/or upheaval. Maybe a complete change in management leaving fans questioning the direction of the team.

Third, Every good sports movie has a story of redemption. If only there were some players on the Sox whose egos got the better of them in 2011 and they completely stopped caring. Maybe they even did some crazy shit like not bothering to watch games they weren't in because they were in the clubhouse drinking beer and ordering food to be delivered. Then they would realize the errors of their ways and come back motivated the following season. Led by the new management team and the new and improved attitude of the players they win back their fan base as they storm their way to a World Series title.

Earlier today I talked about how I'd be back on the bandwagon by late March. I was wrong. I just psyched myself into the 2012 Red Sox!

How many days until pitchers and catchers?

No way. The Sandusky thing is hilarious.

Why else would Penn State have treated it like such a joke?

It appears as though this is a pattern with Valentine and not something that MPS2 made up.

That's bullshit. He should at least pay those families back with wrap sandwiches. Manny's deserves one as well.

But that Joe Beninati guy looks so trustworthy. How could anything have gone wrong?

I just want to put it out there that I did hear this information (of BV screwing us over) from my friend's father. I had no real concrete evidence to weigh. I do know the guy was responsible for drawing up the kitchen plans for BV's in southern ct (I think it's in Milford).

However, in light of this new information.

Hahahahahahaha. I told you so. Hahahahahahaha.

As evidence we have a guy who knows someone who's related to someone who told the story and we have the New York Post. That may not be enough for a court of law, but for this board he's guilty as charged.

With that said, the case will automatically be reviewed if the Sox start off 14-6 or better.

MPS2's story seemed more credible before.

Now it just seems like he knows a guy who didn't quite nail his audition for TMZ.

Well, my friend's dad was irate, I remember the slew of curse words (mix of Italian and English) is still emblazoned on my brain. I was 8-9 years old. The story is true - I guess it's possible that BV meant well and then forgot the promise, or just bailed ont he promise, or couldn't fulfill the promise.

I heard it from the guy who was deceived, but the deceit directly impacted me, because I was on the team he promised crap to.
(I probably would have grown up to be the next Ted Williams, but whatever)
I'd expect that even a semi-celebrity like Valentine would have had some fear of messing with this guy - he wasn't big, but I'm going to guess he at least comes off as mafia. Chains, Italian, lots of swearing...etc.
