I feel sort of dirty reading Grantland.
But I'm glad to see the stat guru guy making the case that I kind of intuitively thought maybe should be made based on glancing at his numbers over the years (and colored, I'm sure, by the fact that the version of Evans that I remember is the mid-'80s late peak years, with basically no first-hand knowledge at all of the pre-Hriniak years).

I haven't read Bill's article yet, but I have seen plenty of data that shows Evans to be very much worthy of the Hall, at least when compared to players already enshrined. If you believe in a smaller Hall, and that many who are in shouldn't be, then Evans probably isn't worthy. But does Evans compare favorably to guys like Rice, Dawson and Perez? Without a doubt.
