Game time: 3:05 pm

Scheduled starters: Ivan Nova (2-0, 4.15) v. Clay Buchholz (1-0, 9.82)

The game will be on NESN, MLBN, and WEEI

Boston weather: 11 am observation at KBOS: Wind out of the south at 12 mph, visibility 10 miles, scattered clouds at 22,000 feet, thin overcast at 25,000 feet, temperature 71F. DP 48F

Forecast: We are seeing some high thin cirrus right now associated with a weak warm front to our south, but we are not going to get any rain until much later tonight. The sun should filter through the overcast, and it is going to be a mostly sunny day. The rain tonight is not the "main event" and should not affect tomorrow's game. Sunday night is another story. Stay tuned. We do need rain...

The wind will blow out.

Win it for Lou Lucier, a fellow Franco American from Grafton, MA who is oldest living former Red Sox player (1943-1944) at age 94 (2 weeks older than Doerr).

Here's a piece from the Globe about him:

Pumped to be going to the game today. Yeah, the Welch's sparkling grape juice stuff is cheesy, but I'll enjoy it anyway.

Hopefully they allow Pedro to pitch today.

Video of the pregame ceremony will be live on mlb.com

Of course my work computer doesn't have flash so I'm screwed, but you guys can watch and tell me about it.

Anyone know if NESN is showing the pregame stuff live?
I'm imagine so & set my DVR accordingly but would feel better if I had a confirmation of this.

My DVR is set as well. I can't imagine them not showing it.

2 hours of pregame...I would imagine they'll show the good stuff AND have Nick Cafardo say something.

Got close enough to punch Lucchino in the face but I balked. In the second row of right field next to the Yankee bullpen. Pics of Mo Rivera taking a dump forthcoming.

Listening to the WEEI feed... It seems to be getting a little dusty in my office.

I still do a double take when I catch a post-game press conference.

NESN could have done a better job identifying players walking in.

How was I supposed to know that the 400 pound old guy was actually Rick Cerone?

LaSchelle Tarver is there. Where the f**k is Wade Boggs?

EEI said it would be impossible to name them all.
