Game time: 12:35 pm

Scheduled starters: Freddy Garcia (2-2, 5.94) v. Franklin Morales (1-1, 2.51)

The game will be on NESN, MLB Network, and WEEI (and on YES)

Boston weather: 11 am observation at KBOS: Wind out of the west at 5 mph, visibility 10 miles in light rain, few clouds at 4,400 feet, broken layer at 11,000 feet, temperature 82F, DP 66F

Forecast: The light rain in the area right now is not the "main event". That's still out in central NY ahead of an approaching cold front. We should be able to get through Game 1 with just some intermittent light rain, but there is an increasing risk of thunderstorms later in the afternoon. The light rain we have now is cooling the atmosphere and that will likely keep temperatures in the 80s or low 90s. It will be humid with a light wind blowing toward right.

Dear Bobby Valentine,

Please, please, PLEASE find a way to get Padilla into this game to face Horseface Teixeira.

Sincerely,

GoNM

What GoNM said. I think this team needs a good bench-clearing brawl. It might light a fire under their sorry asses.

Has anyone noticed that Garcia is throwing a no hitter. No, seriously, Garcia IS THROWING A NO HITTER!

Edit: ...and the Yankees go back to back after I post this. So much for a jinx. I hate myself.

Not anymore. Good work, gof.

Well if nothing else, that inning broke up the no-no and the shutout.

Girardi further proves what a doucher he is by pinch hitting for Darnell with the bases loaded and a five run lead. Stay classy Joe.

Someone should take this team behind the woodshed with a shotgun and go Ol' Yeller on their ass.

That would be a waste of a perfectly good shotgun shell.

I think it's safe to say that Bobby and co. have conceded this game to the L column. Have a little pride in your work, guys.

When it was 4-0 I decided to take the kids to go see the new Spiderman movie. I see I made an excellent choice.
