Game time: 7:10 pm

Scheduled starters: Rick Porcello (7-6, 4.56) v. Aaron Cook (2-4, 4.50)

The game will be on NESN, ESPN, and WEEI

Boston weather: 4 pm observation at KBOS: Wind out of the south at 13 mph with gusts to 16 mph, visibility 1 mile in heavy rain, fog, and mist, few clouds at 900 feet, scattered clouds at 3,300 feet, broken layer at 7,500 feet, overcast at 13,000 feet, temperature 72F, DP 69F.

Forecast: Wet. There is a warm and moist air mass over eastern NE with a southerly flow bringing in more moisture from the ocean. There was just enough solar heating today to set up some convection. The upper air is moving very slowly, so these storms are moving slowly. They are not intense storms, but they are taking their time moving. With the large amount of moisture in the atmosphere that adds up to the potential for a lot of rain in a short period of time. There is a line of showers moving through the Boston area at 4 pm. It should clear out in a few hours. They could start the game on time. They should be able to play it, but there could be a rain delay along the way.

I don't care how many times NESN posts the stat, I refuse to believe that Adrian Gonzalez leads the majors in BA with RISP.

Nice catch by Kalish to keep it from getting even uglier.

When I grow up I want to be Pedro Ciriaco.

Edit: What a shitty at bat by Ellsbury. He swings at the first pitch in the dirt, then he watches a meaty curve ball over the heart of the plate for strike 2. He was done after that.

We're still within striking distance. Just gotta shut their bats down.

Sorry. It's been so long since I've actually seen him produce, I didn't know how to react.
