Nice coupla quick outs there. Will Schill go CG?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I hope not. 8 IP, 2 ER is pretty damn good. Let's have Schilling disappointed about not getting the opportunity to finish out the game rather risk him being pissed at himself for giving up 2 or 3 runs in the 9th.

Well - we dont need to worry about it anymore - Timlin starts the 9th presumably since he's already warmed up?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I just don't see this as a Timlin game. Why not give Foulke a little action?

Guys, how sweet is it to have Olerud on board? He just goes about business.

I agree with the Timlin move. The Yankees are quite capable of scoring 7 in the ninth, and this game, while not crucial, is critical.

Nail it down.

If Timlin had pitched the last two days, then no way- but it's been a while.

It's tough to say what to do here. Our starters have been so good recently we haven't seen hardly any of Foulke, Timline or Papelbon this month.

Pape has pitched only 2 innings so far this month. Foulke 2 2/3 and Timlin 3 innings.

Just got back from the grocery store and was listening to the game on XM satellite radio on the way. Gotta say.......when Schilling nailed down and got those three final outs to end the inning in the 8th, it was the first time I've felt like last year's Schilling may be back. Going to a change to get Giambi and bumping it up to 94 in the 8th a couple times shows me he is back. Nice to see.

Oh yeah, and I want to see Foulke come in in the 9th today. Why not?

As prior, Wakefield and Schilling are off limits for bashing by RSN. Bitch, whine, and complain about whomever you want, but these two deserve either contemplation, adulation, or silence.

This from Yahoo! last inning:

- G. Kapler grounded into fielder's choice, J. Varitek to third, J. Olerud out at second
- G. Kapler to second on fielder's indifference

What in the hell does that mean?
