As a 12 year old, I went to his ML debut. I remember it because I remember my Dad telling me that it was the first time in a few years that the Sox had started a lefty at home. If I recall correctly, he got rocked early but the Sox came back to win.

Thanks for posting the documentry about Win. Someday I will make a short translation.
You can see his father Jaap; the 3 guys in the dug-out are former team players, the guy with the grey hair is the former baseball TV reporter and I am in my living room in front of the book case. Highlight is Win facing Reggie Jackson with a SO. My father filmed the Storks players in the red uniforms (1974)

A short story on snow tires

During my last week visit to Win he remembered (I joint him on that day to the 2nd hand car-dealer ) his first car he bought in Pawtucket was an old Chevy.
During away games I was crusing around in the Chevy going to Newport, Plymouth etc. One day(Win's day-off) we were playing golf and visiting the Mayflower. This Chevy was unstable in curves during rainfall and we had to stop alongside the road. Inspection revealed we were driving around on snow tires..... We drove all the way to FLA on these tires and got stuck in the sand of the Saint Augustin beach on these snow tires...
