As Red Sox Nation celebrates the one-year anniversary of the greatest run of postseason dominance ever, RedSoxNation.net is proud to unveil the 2005 Royal Rooters t-shirt design. All profits derived from these shirts will go toward operating costs for the board. Prices include $4 shipping and handling (bubble pack, 1st class postage, etc.).

Here’s how the purchasing part works: Click on the ADD TO CART button, and it will bring you to a summary screen then a PayPal screen where you can pay using your PayPal account or hit "Continue Shopping" to go back to the shirt selections. To view cart at any time, at the bottom there is a VIEW CART button. (Those needing information on snail mail info, please PM MALC or RedSoxAnni.) Be sure to type in your real name, screen name, shipping address and other pertinent information. Theoretically, we’ll get an order form with that info also, but it never hurts to be sure.

We’ll take pre-orders for a couple of weeks, then close it up and get them screen-printed. They’ll be ready approximately four weeks from the time we stop taking orders.

We hope that those who buy our t-shirt enjoy it and wear it with pride. Any design ideas for next year are welcomed. We’re thinking about perhaps doing baseball hats and/or fleece jackets next year to change it up. If there are any graphic designers out there who have ideas, please let us know.

Lastly, big ups, as the kids like to say, to Empyreal, whose basic design this is, and AnalogKid, who helped perfect it. You both had me at hello. And also thanks to others who contributed great design ideas, such as Foulkelore, LoveofSox, RandyKutcherHair, and Gerky.

Without further ado:

Really? There's another t-shirt thread that said something like 15 orders.

There's really only one design, but just shirt choices. For you, Haggis, I'd suggest the red ringer, perhaps a men's large? Chicks dig the rings.

Chicks do dig the rings. I have quite a few of those style, though. I was torn between the 3/4 red sleeve and the classic navy t.

I went with the navy. I'm a little light to afford 2 tees, but I'm really looking forward to showing off my new threads at Fenway and the Hangar Bar in Amherst!

Nice job with the shirts, MALC.

Relax! I was only kidding, folks.

I don't have the numbers with me at work right now, but I think we're sitting on about 35 shirts. Last year, we sold 49 shirts, and I kinda thought that this year, with many new contributors, we'd hit about 70. Alas.

Anyway, credit for the shirts should go to Empyreal, AnalogKid, Gerky, and a cast of several others who refined the design. I'm just the organizer.

On Friday, I'll have all the final numbers and what not. Also coming soon is the debt relief total (I swear!). I did a lot of work on these issues over my "vacation" last week, but didn't get to see it through to final completion.

I can't for the life of me see why there aren't more orders. These shirts are pretty damn sweet.

I can't believe that only 35 have been ordered.

2004 did cause a huge rush on Sox merchandise, but I really thought we'd sell hundreds.

Why wasn't the t-shirt link posted on the main redsoxnation.net page? Wouldn't that get more people seeing it?

To my way of thinking, most people skip right past that portal front page and go to the forums. The main target audience for the t-shirts is the ON THE FIELD folks. But I think next year we'll probably put them out there. Good suggestion.

Some don't like the design. I think it looks great and since I'm in the position to be able to get one, I ordered right away. Remember, some of our posters are students or folks paying off all their 2004 World Series merchandise purchases still. :)

Yes, this latter group includes me as well.

I understand the dilemma. Plus, many posters are fine with last year's model.

I think next year, we'll do like stickers or something rather than another shirt, unless inspiration strikes. We should be on much more solid financial footing then.

OK, orders are closed. This topic is locked. Please refer to the pinned thread in ON THE FIELD for all further info on the T-shirts.

I'll keep this in the Saloon for a couple days then move it to the archive.
