Red Sox lineup:

Gonzalez, ss
Loretta, 2b
Lowell, 3b
Youkilis, 1b
Bard, c

Murphy, cf
Moss, rf

Pauley, p

Renyel Pinto is starting for the Marlins. Tankersley will pitch in the game.

Hanley Ramirez is playing ss for the Marlins and will bat lead-off.

Alex Gonzalez is wearing number 93 today. Someone forgot to put his bags on the bus, so he's cobbled together a uniform and borrowed a glove!

UPDATE:

Marlins score on a Ramirez bloop hit, Uggla double, Hermida sac-fly. Calloway then gets the 7-2 DP when Uggla tried to tag on another fly.

I'm looking for Pauley to settle in, I've heard good things about him.

Youkilis reaches on an error in LF.

Actually, is it an error? Youks is on second, but it was apparently very catchable.

Good hustle, Kevin.

Bard walks. Calloway up with 2 on.

(Can you tell it's a slow day at work?)

(Is this a new feature? I keep hitting "Fast Reply" and it's editing my post.)

Bard ran for second, Youkilis didn't catch the sign, had to run late, and both are safe, bad throw from Marlins C.

Bases loaded for Enrique. Calloway HBP.

Enrique SF to LF, Youkilis scores. Murphy at bat, Moss on deck, 1st and 2nd.

If you post two posts in a row within 10 minutes, the board treats it as an edit. It prevents people from stringing several posts in a row, and "talking to themselves".

Any idea when the first spring training game will be televised in the Boston area?

There was one last week - Bucs-Sox. I believe the one either Friday or Saturday is due to be on.

At least they haven't dropped 22 on us, like they did yesterday.

I still want to know if Joe Girardi apologized to Mike Hargrove for "running up the score" :P

It's worth noting that spring training is a bit more "significant" to the Marlins players than it is the Red Sox, being that they have a number of positions up for grabs, and a number of young players trying to impress and get a shot. They may be playing in a different gear than a veteran team getting their ABs/ IP in.

I have no doubt about that. And, it's also exciting to see these kids working thier ass off and playing well, hopefully they do it in the regular season.

But, man. It's kinda hard, even in ST, to see a team with a $130M payroll getting crushed by a team with a $20M or so payroll, with the same prospects we traded to them, haha. Entertaining, funny, but a little unsettling. It'll be forgotten tomorrow, however.

12-1 Marlins after 8. The Sox have managed THREE hits.

And, after releasing Pokey, the Marlins' payroll is around $18.5 million. They've got two players making more than $1 million, Willis ($3.5M) and Moehler ($1.5M). The majority of the Marlins make the league minimum.
