We'll make it through the game without any signficant rain, and we'll probably make it through the Pops concert and fireworks before the rains reach Boston.

There's a warm front out in western to central NY/central PA at this time. It will approach the Boston area from the southwest. Meanwhile, there's a cold front behing that; it will affect our weather tomorrow. Right now, at 10 am, radar and satellite imagery shows the eastern edge of the rain at Syracuse and Binghamton, and the edge of the thicker midlevel clouds approaching the MA/NY border. The midlevel clouds will move into the Boston area during the afternoon, during the game, but there shouldn't be any rain until later in the evening.

It'll be in the mid to upper 70s at game time, and it might get into the low 80s during the afternoon. The wind will remain southwest, and will increase to around 15-20 mph with higher gusts during the afternoon. That, my friends, is blowing out toward left. MANNY, TAKE NOTE PLEASE!

This line-up looks like the minimalist approach. Look at every position, and all the players who could conceivably play there. Then pick the one for each slot with the least chance of adding offensive spark. So, how come WMP isn't DHing?

I understand that everyone needs a day off from time to time, but why give EVERYONE a day off on the same day and throw out a lineup supporting a pitcher that needs runs. I just don't get it.

The only defense I can give, and it is a lame excuse at that, is that Edwin Jackson has that nice 1-8 W/L and a 6.88 ERA. Other than that pitiful excuse, I have no answer!

The only lineup move that really bugs me is having Cora play for Pedroia instead of Lugo. Hinske for Youks is ok because Youks was clearly hurting last night. Ellsbury for Manny doesn't bother me because it's a day game after a night game and Manny has been struggling lately. Those moves make the lineup more LH against a RHP..

I have Cablevision and can't get the game on EI even though the schedule says it's supposed to be on. Anyone know anything?
