Game time: 8:00 pm EDT (first pitch sometime around 8:30)

Scheduled starters: Jon Lester (0-0, 4.91) v. Aaron Cook (NR)

The game will be on FOX, WRKO, and ESPN Radio

Denver Weather: 11 AM MDT (1 pm EDT) observation at KAPA: Wind calm, visibility 10 miles, few clouds at 9,000 feet, scattered clouds at 12,000 feet, temperature 59F, DP 32F.

Forecast: It looks like it will be a decent day out there. There's some mid-level cloudiness moving in from the west, but that's all it is - clouds. There will be no rain. If the layer goes to broken or overcast, it will not warm up into the mid-60s, but if the layer stays scattered, it will be warmer this afternoon than it was yesterday. It won't be as cold tonight; it should stay no colder than the upper 40s. The winds will be light, and from the east, which is blowing from right to left.

No mucking about. No relying on Josh Beckett tommorrow. No hoping it comes back to Fenway.

Get out the brooms. Sweep.

Just win, baby.

I want to win. I want to clinch it.

But...I'm not ready for this season to be over yet. I'm rooting for them to win tonight, but if they just happened to lose tonight and we'd get to witness one more masterpiece from 20007 Cy Young Josh Beckett, well it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

I think this is the right approach. And I'm thinking... the big bats have been quiet in the past two games... thin air... long ball...
There's gonna be some souvenirs for the towel idiots tonight.

Go Sox!!!

I have a sneaking suspicion that this will be the last game thread for awhile.

The Boston Red Sox have not hit a home run since their first at bat of this series.

Tonight, it's time to show the Rockies what this offense really can do.

Note to the Boston Red Sox:

PRACTICE IS CANCELLED TOMORROW, THERE'S NO ONE LEFT TO BEAT.

While it would be nice to see the Sox clinch the World Series on homefield at Fenway, it will be even nicer if they get the sweep. Finish is tonight. Go Sox!

When was the last time that Lester pitched for the Red Sox? Damn, now we have him again on the mound, thats terrible for a WS caliber team like the Red Sox. I guess there will be no party this weekend.

Lester can do it. Pesky wants a 2nd ring for the other hand.

Alright, I think we know what this means.

It means that we have to throw the '08 All Star game. That way, the Sox can sweep and win at home in the '08 World Series.
